Tennessee's largest and most visited state park, 40 minutes S/SE of the venue. If you hike to the bottom close to the falls, you WILL get wet!!

A Gorge Access Permit ($6) is required to hike down to the waterfall (200 available each day. Can be purchased on their website). The base of the waterfall is only available on fair-weather days. Visiting the waterfall will require moderate hiking, swimming or wading through water, and crossing slippery rocks. They recommend children 5 and under not visit the base of the waterfall.
