As long as I can remember, Megan was one of those girls who knew she wanted her wedding day to be special. Of course, it goes without saying that she needed that wonderful man to be there with her on that special day. She dreamt of having a loving husband and raising a house full of children and a dog or two.
At the end of April 2017, during one of our sister gossip sessions, she told me how she met a guy named Clint. One of her lifetime friends, Chelsea, had just started dating Clint’s lifelong friend, Keegan. The girls planned to meet up at The Fuzzy Duck Saloon in Nashville to celebrate the end of finals. Keegan also had a few friends there playing darts. Towards the end of the night, Keegan and Chelsea decided that Clint and Meg would be perfect for each other and wouldn’t take no for an answer. At that point they hadn’t even said ‘hello’ to one another. But my sister can talk enough for the both of them. From what I’ve been told... the night only went up from there. It wasn’t long after that, May 28, 2017, when they officially started dating.
They were so busy with life, college, and work that there was little ‘free’ time- Megan mostly. But they managed to find time for each other during the little extra time that they did have. They continued this for a year and a half, but with all of the stress of finishing college and growing into adulthood, they needed to take a break to focus on themselves individually. It wasn’t a very long break. It didn’t take them long to realize that they could handle those life stresses with each other’s support and they were back together within two months. From then on, it seemed natural for them to strive into adulthood together.
Next thing you know, they both landed 'big girl' and 'big boy' jobs, and Clint bought a house in November 2019. Shortly after, Megan left Carlyle and moved to Nashville. I thought it was just a matter of time before Clint would pop the question! But he kept us all on our toes a little longer.
COVID hit a couple months after they moved into their first home. This meant they got a real taste of home life together while the world was shut down. This was a fun change and sometimes challenging time for them, getting used to being together literally all the time.
I remember her and Clint stopping by mom’s house to tell us they got engaged and show us the ring. They were making all their rounds to tell the family, since it was Father’s day weekend. She dropped the hint to mom first, and I quickly caught on to what was happening by seeing them hugging and celebrating and Megan holding out her left hand. Clint was all smiles that day. Meg told us the story of how Clint pulled off the biggest surprise ever. He made supper that night before and when it was time for dessert, he offered her a beautiful diamond ring instead of their normal DQ blizzard. Of course, she immediately cried when Clint asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. And she did end up getting her blizzard the next day! June 19th will always be a special day for them.
Not long after their engagement, Megan and Clint brought home a puppy. On August 11, came along the most adorable little german shepherd, Tyson. This was the beginning of their family. Seeing them with Tyson, I can tell they will be great parents together. Both of them full of love, Meg the strict one, Clint the relaxed one.
Now here they are, planning their special day, preparing for the rest of their lives. They are enjoying their long engagement. Busy attending friends’ weddings and other celebrations as a couple, soaking it all in. Clint and Megan are so excited to celebrate their day surrounded by friends and family. Bring on the beauty, beer and dancing!!
