The story of Megan and Joel began in Mrs. Jones' kindergarten class in the fall of 2007. Because of their last names, Megan stood behind Joel in line every day. There is video evidence of the two of them standing next to each other in the spring concert that year. Interestingly enough, they didn't have another class together throughout all of grade school.

In seventh grade, they both ran cross country and track together, but did not talk much. The following year, they sat side by side at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church as they were confirmed members of the faith. They still were nothing more than acquaintances.

It wasn't until sophomore year of high school that they became friends through cross country, and eventually became each other's best friend. Joel had the courage to ask Megan out in December of 2017. And if you ask Joel, that's the best thing that ever happened to her.

Megan's interest in pharmacy and Joel's ties to Purdue led them both to West Lafayette after graduating high school. Their favorite things to do at Purdue include attending basketball games, running on various trails around campus, and going to mass every Sunday at St. Thomas Aquinas.

They got engaged at Chain O' Lakes State Park in June of 2022 and cannot wait to start their life together!
