It was August of 2022. Megan had just settled into an apartment in New Bloomfield. She decided to download a dating app called Bumble. After swiping left over and over again, one profile caught her attention. A guy with glasses and a kind smile wrote in his bio that he went to Penn State Berks. "Wait," she thought, "I went to Penn State Berks too. We have something in common! And if he went to college, he might not be a serial killer!" So, she sent him a message. A few cheesy pickup lines and some generic get-to-know-you messages later, they met up at Track's End Restaurant. They talked about their jobs, where they grew up, and the movies and shows they liked. Megan was nervous, which resulted in what she thought was an impassive but polite facial expression. Josh thought that, based on Megan's RBF the entire time, the date went terribly, and that she would not be open to a second date. There was a second date, and a third, and a fourth. They enjoyed watching movies, walking through downtown Carlisle, and going to a Hibachi grill. Time went on, and Megan and Josh fell in love as they experienced the ups and downs of life, traveled together, and learned more about each other. The years seemed to fly by. In October 2024, Megan moved in with Josh, and their family grew. Their furry, four-pawed adopted cat-daughter Queenie captured their hearts, even if she does bite sometimes. On July 2nd, 2025, Josh and Megan met at a romantic river, and Josh got down on one knee. After (not) much deliberation, Megan said yes. They are looking forward to a lifetime of growth: growing as people, growing closer together, and growing their family.

Rooms are available on site! There is a wide range of options. The Lodge offers hotel rooms with 1 to 2 rooms that can sleep up to 4. There are also villas, bungalows, cottages, and cabins. For our more adventurous guests, there are RV sites, tent sites, and yurts as well.

Lake Raystown Resort

An alternative to staying at Raystown Resort is the Comfort Inn in Huntingdon. It's about a 30-minute drive from the venue.
