Megan and Will met during their first year of law school. Will voted to keep her out of his study group, but luckily his friends outvoted him. After many stressful study sessions, Megan and Will became good friends and then started dating.
On Saturday, September 22, 2018, Will had told Megan he was taking her to a nice dinner. On the way to this dinner, they stopped at the San Jose Rose Garden (where they went on one of their first dates). Will was very nervous walking into the park, rambling about how the park unfairly did not permit dogs (even service dogs) and how old the trees are. While looking for the perfect bench, Will said "There are... a lot more people here than I expected."
After finding a good bench, they sat down and Will started saying many nice things to Megan that she still cannot quite remember. At some point, Will told Megan he had been keeping a secret from her and that he was excited to finally tell her. Then Will got down on one knee and asked Megan to marry him.
After a good amount of crying, Megan said yes. Then Will let her know he did not know what to do next because their friends, Kristin Cameron and Kendall Plant, were there secretly taking pictures. After taking some more pictures (thank you to Kristin and Kendall!!! And check out their work in the photos section of the website), Will let Megan know they had to go to make their dinner reservation.
Upon arriving at the De Anza Hotel for dinner, Megan saw their families both there waiting for them. After some more crying, they all got to enjoy an amazing dinner together. This was the first time the McAdoo family got to the meet the Gritsch family!
When the meal was finished, Will let Megan know he had one more surprise. They walked to the back patio of the hotel to find many of their closest friends waiting with champagne. Yes, Megan cried again. Everyone got to party the night away and celebrate the happy news together.
Let the fun continue on October 12, 2019!
Shoe suggestion: The ceremony is outdoors and there is a lot of grass to walk through, so ladies may want to consider wearing shoes with a thicker heel, wedge shoes, or grass stoppers for heels.
Weather suggestion: While it is typically warm during the day in Petaluma in October, the evenings can get quite chilly. Guests may want to consider bringing jackets, sweaters, or shawls. The reception will be indoors.
