Our Journey

Psalm 37:4-5 For years now, Zach and I have been praying for one another, not knowing who we were praying for by name. One of my new favorite discoveries, are the lists Zach and I both wrote around age 18. These lists are special because we both wrote down what we were looking and praying for in a future spouse. Prayer is powerful and God is so so good!! Zach and I read our lists to each other after engagement and found that every. single. bullet. point. was. answered! You read that correctly!! God saw fit to mark off all of the qualities I was praying for in a future husband, AND all of the qualities Zach listed and prayed for a future wife! Do we serve an awesome God or what?! Here is a little glimpse into our story...God , in his beautiful timing, brought Zachary Childers and myself together! Little did Zach know that all of those years of praying for a wife, God was working out His masterful plan, in my life and his, to make it possible for our paths to cross. Through the work of friends (The Boggs Family and Jason and Meagan McLeod), Zach and I met for the first time on November 8, 2019 in Canton, GA. It was a classic, "Hey, I know this girl you should meet!" and "Hey! Would you be up for meeting this great guy?!"I am eternally grateful that we both agreed to meet each other! We were both very impressed with the descriptions used to describe the other, and of course the attraction didn't hurt ;) We had no idea that our lives were about to change for the better!After our "set up weekend", we were both immensely intrigued. I wanted to get to know the attractive man who made me laugh and was so easy to talk to, and Zach wanted to learn more about the beautiful woman who was cheerful and calm after spending 4 hours in Atlanta traffic. Thus began our love story. Zach and I went on our first date on November 23, 2019 in Macon, GA. Zach has pursued me with the love of Christ every step of the way. We have enjoyed and experienced many amazing adventures together: from visiting family, beach trips, mountain trips, enduring COVID, long distance to moving day, and so much more!On February 8, 2021, Zach asked me to spend the rest of my life by his side, as his wife! Of course, with a tear in my eye, I said yes!! We have found a blessing in each other and strive each and every day to keep God at the center of our relationship. This, of course, is a very short snit-bit of our story. I think back on all of the people who have prayed for Zach and myself through the years. All of the talks we have had about our desire to marry. All of the encouragement and support from family and friends. We are so grateful for the part you have played in our story!
