How it began...

We met at Calvary (the church we were both attending) in 2016 and started out as friends doing things together with our church group. As time went on and we got to know each other better, we began to hang out in smaller groups and even just the two of us at times. It wasn't until the fall of 2018 that we started dating and from then on the rest is history.

We had just finished having breakfast with Drew's family and decided that it would be a great day to take a drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway to see the leaves changing before they all fell off (this was something I'd been wanting to do this year since I've never seen it). Before making the drive up to Fancy Gap, VA, we grabbed my dog, Aspen, and some things to have a picnic while we were up there. This should have been my first clue that something was up, but I didn't even notice until after. When we got to the parkway, Drew was looking for a specific overlook which I didn't question why, just let him do his thing. After looking for this overlook and realizing we weren't near it, Drew picked a different spot for us to pull over and enjoy our picnic which turned out to be near a cabin. We enjoyed a nice picnic together and when everyone else around us had left, walked around the cabin while we left Aspen to guard our picnic. When we came back around the cabin we saw Aspen trying to climb the fence and I laughed and started towards her thinking the entire time that Drew was right behind me. All of a sudden I felt him tap my back so I turned around to see him on one knee proposing! After taking a moment to realize what was happening I said YES! This was by far the BEST thing to happen in 2020 to us and we are very excited to celebrate our marriage with friends and family very soon!
