On October 6, 2021, Megan's college best friend, Lauren Browning, convinced her to meet Jack Turner, the roommate of Lauren’s boyfriend (now fiancé), Aaron. Fast forward to October 4, 2024, Jack proposed to Megan! Just two days later, on October 6, 2024, he surprised her with an engagement party to celebrate their three-year journey. Here’s how it all began... Megan had no idea that walking over to Jack's sophomore-year dorm, Fairview, would change her life forever. The two instantly hit it off, bonding over laughter and a friendly game of cards. One week later, after a cozy evening of Chick-fil-A and watching Legally Blonde, Jack asked Megan to be his girlfriend. He had plans for a more formal date once Megan returned from visiting high school friends at Mizzou for fall break. The couple sealed the deal at the famously romantic Mama Carolla’s restaurant. Their time at Butler University has been filled with football games, sorority formals, basketball games, game nights, themed parties, Thursdays at Brothers Bar, movie nights, bonfires, and visiting each other on breaks. Butler football games were especially memorable, with Jack playing his favorite sport and Megan cheering him on—dressed up and enjoying a drink or two. Jack played all four years, including three years as a starter as a Guard on the Offensive Line. Some of his favorite memories include beating Valparaiso to win the Hoosier Helmet and securing a road win against San Diego with a game-winning 56-yard field goal. Through football, Jack strengthened his values of friendship, hard work, leadership, resilience, and patience. Megan, on the other hand, was deeply involved in her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, where she served as an officer for two years and helped with the recruitment team. It was there that she met some of her closest friends and bridesmaids—women who truly embody Theta’s values of intellectual curiosity, leadership, service, and personal excellence. Megan was also fortunate to form meaningful friendships with women from other sororities and even had the opportunity to become roommates with some of them. Megan and Jack have taken advantage of the vibrant opportunities Indianapolis has to offer including Indy Fuel hockey games, country concerts at Ruoff, downtown Indy bars, shopping at Keystone Mall, dinner in Carmel, duckpin bowling in Fountain Square, and Indianapolis Colts games (Megan is a Bears fan and Jack is a Packers fan, but they both cheer for the Colts!). Megan and Jack both graduated from Butler University’s College of Education, and they are both putting their degrees to good use. Megan teaches geography and world history to freshmen at Avon High School, while also leading an elective on current events for upperclassmen. Additionally, she sponsors All For His Glory, a club for her community-focused, Christian-based female students. Meanwhile, Jack landed his dream job in the world of motorsports! He works at Andretti Global, an IndyCar race team, where he works in the gearbox department. He utilizes mechanical and engineering skills. On top of that, he's also a fueler on the pit stop crew for one of Andretti’s three race cars—meaning he’s an expert at filling up Megan’s car! Megan has embraced the world of race cars and developed a passion for football, while Jack has adapted to Megan's pink-themed, history-filled lifestyle. One of Jack and Megan's favorite traditions is attending mass and enjoying brunch on Sundays. Their faith has been at the heart of their relationship, growing stronger as their bond deepens. They found a special connection with Christ the King Church in Indianapolis, in part because it reminds Megan of her home parish, Visitation. Jack and Megan are overjoyed to be married in the Catholic church, where their shared faith will continue to guide them. Just a few months after graduating from Butler University, Jack proposed to Megan at a charming park near Indianapolis, featuring the ruins of an old church. Afterward, he took her to their favorite Italian restaurant, Diavola, for a special dinner. As a final surprise, they enjoyed drinks and dessert at Mama Carolla’s—where their journey together began. A few days later, Jack impressed Megan with a surprise engagement party at her home, surrounded by friends, family, laughter, and delicious food. As they prepare for marriage, Megan and Jack are excitedly searching for their first apartment together! They’re exploring options in Zionsville and can’t wait to start this new chapter of their lives together.

There will be a shuttle service provided to transport guests to and from the Renaissance Indianapolis North Hotel and the Ritz Charles reception venue (about a 5-minute drive). The Hyatt Place in Carmel is steps away/walking distance from the Ritz Charles reception venue. The shuttle will run from 4:30-11:30 pm continuously.
