Our love story began at the University of Florida. Our sorority and fraternity had been paired up to spend “Homecoming Week” together in preparation for the big game against Missouri. They had scheduled events throughout the week to allow everyone to get to know each other.
One of the nights, Kappa and Phi Tau had scheduled a destination, “beach-themed” party near Lake Weir in Ocala, Florida. In a stroke of luck, Megan’s friends had gotten up to use to the restroom and she was seated alone at the bonfire. Fortunately, it was at that moment when she met Hunter. Hunter came up to Megan and asked, “if the seat next to her was taken?” The two talked non-stop for hours and then went on to play (and win of course) a game of beach volleyball.
The conclusion of “Homecoming Week” was just the beginning of their friendship. The next weekend, Hunter invited Megan and her friends to spend the day on the “East Coast” boating and beaching in Titusville, Florida.
From that day on, Megan and Hunter became the best of friends. They continued to grow their friendship through numerous activities together – going to concerts, date functions, wakeboarding, and studying.
After Hunter graduated and moved to Tennessee, being apart made them realize they were better together. Their long-distance relationship survived three different states, countless trips back and forth, and late-night phone calls. Once Megan graduated UF Law School, Hunter decided it was time to live in not only the same state, but in the same town. He found his newest job with Frampton Construction and the two live happily ever after.
