We met in Costa Rica while doing a study abroad for a tropical field ecology course at Oakland University where we discovered our love for bird watching

We continued to go bird watching together once we returned to OU

Later that summer we went on our first backpacking trip to Pictured Rocks with friends

After a camping trip along the Au Sable with the OU Ecology Club, we officially starting dating!

We spent our first thanksgiving together volunteering for the Lions Thanksgiving Day Flag and Halftime Crew

We love trying new hobbies together, like rock climbing (Fun Fact: John gave Megan a concussion during our Lead Climbing Certification Test!)

Megan graduated with her B.S. from Oakland University!

Megan graduated with her M.S. from Oakland University

Megan moved to Columbus Ohio to start her Ph.D. at Ohio State University

Our first co-authored publication! (We now have six!)

John graduated with his M.S. from Grand Valley State University

Our family grew by two with the adoption of Pepper and Princess Leia after Stormy passed away.

We added to our collection of hobbies by completing our PADI open water SCUBA diving certification.
