Our Wedding

Giovanni and Megan met in 2020 while working together at Cavendar Toyota. Giovanni was working full-time, and Megan was in her senior year of college at St. Mary's University. They knew of each other but didn't begin talking until early 2021.

How We Met

With the help of Megan's best friend, Maryam, Giovanni asked Megan on a date in early January. Their first date fell on Jan. 10, which happens to be Megan's mom's birthday. They went to Andretti's for go-kart racing and games and afterward went to dinner at The Rustic. Giovanni and Megan made their relationship official on February 4, 2021 (Which also happens to be the day before Giovanni's mom's birthday. Are we sensing a trend?)

The First Date

Over the next three years, Giovanni and Megan hit several milestones together: moving into their first apartment together in San Antonio, adopting several cats, going on their first out-of-state trip to Colorado to visit Giovanni's best man, Sergio, and Megan's family, and taking many, many trips to the beach. Giovanni and Megan also had several personal milestones during this time; Giovanni started a new job at USAA, Megan graduated with her Masters in Marketing and began her new job at St. Mary's University.

the next three years

It all started with a group trip to Corpus Christi. Megan had no idea that anything special was being planned, but everyone else in the group was in on it. Truly, she believed it was her excellent planning that made the trip-planning process so easy. But Giovanni had a surprise and had everyone help out. Their friends came up with the idea to have an 'all-white' photoshoot together to commemorate their first group trip. They all traveled to the beach at sunset and took a few group photos before moving on to the individual couples. On June 1, 2024, Giovanni got down on one knee and popped the question.

the proposal

The story doesn't end after the proposal. During this past year, Megan was a bridesmaid for her best friend Maryam's wedding, which led to Giovanni and Megan's first trip out of the country together to Guadalajara, Mexico. Giovanni and Megan have also been busy planning their wedding and can not wait for you all to join them on Nov. 1, 2025 (Which, coincidentally, is another family member's birthday. Told you it was a trend).

If you are traveling from outside of San Antonio here are a few hotels that we recommend staying in. They are all located within 20 minutes of the venue and are located near other popular San Antonio attractions. There are also a few Airbnbs and rental properties in the area if you would like to consider something other than a hotel.

The La Cantera Resort and Spa is one of San Antonio's premier hotel destinations. This hotel is 20 minutes away from the venue and down the street from Six Flags and The Shops at La Cantera. Prices range from $190 to $350 a night.

La Cantera Resort and Spa

Located 15 minutes from the venue, 10 minutes from SeaWorld and Six Flags, this hotel places you perfectly to visit some of San Antonio's top attractions. Prices range from $108 to $146 a night.

La Quinta Inn & Suites - San Antonio Northwest

Located 20 minutes from the venue and down the street from Six Flags and The Shops at La Cantera. Prices range from $130 to $150 a night.
