It was a dark and stormy night at the gym where I was spending an hour exercising and sweating out the stressors from a long, hard day at work. The gym echoed with the sounds of thunder and metal barbells clanging against the rubberized floor. With each repetition, I felt my heart rate climb higher and higher as the tension from the day slowly left my body. At that moment, I felt that nothing could make my heart rate rise any further, but then, a moderately muscular, dadbod-esk silhouette appeared in front of me. I felt an immediate attraction for this dark, yet pale, shadowy ginger figure, and I had to meet him.

After the workout was over, I approached him to introduce myself. As I reached out to say hi, he turned to me and said “Wow, your eyes are the most mesmerizing things I have ever seen. I wish my class didn’t start in 5 minutes because I could get lost in your eyes for days”. Flabbergasted, I replied “You should see me with reading glasses on”. After a few wonderful dates learning about each other’s personalities, likes, and dislikes, and how much we enjoyed each other’s company, we decided that there was no one else that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with. Because, as we both had to learn through life’s natural trials and errors, finding someone that you love being around whether it’s traveling the world, or simply enjoying a cup of coffee together in silence appreciating the simple fact that you are near them is a rare, if not once-in-a-lifetime find. Our love story is simplistically complicated in the most wonderful of ways. And we would have it no other way.
