Jon and Megan met early January 2020 when Megan flew from Lexington to Milwaukee for her residency interview at Ascension St. Francis Hosptial where Jon was completing his Acute Care residency. Three months later, Megan matched at St. Francis and by June, relocated to Milwaukee. Jon and Megan became friends, often going for walks at lunch (ask Jon how his favorite Iowa sweatshirt was stolen from a bush!) and taking Megan's dog, Goose, to the Lakefront.

After several months, in April 2021, Jon asked Megan to be his girlfriend. Megan happily agreed. It was then that Megan learned she was the only one Jon remembered from residency interviews and how he'd hoped she'd match. Jon has a terrible memory, so this is really saying something!

Megan and Jon continued intertwining their lives by celebrating each other through multiple job changes, adventures all around Milwaukee, trips from the West Coast to Mexico x2 to Italy and Germany and many smaller trips in between, the adoption of a fuzzy puppy named Roo in February 2022 and finally purchase of their first home in August 2022.

Jon proposed in August 2023, much to Megan's complete surprise! She knew it was eventually coming but suspected Jon would wait until their European adventure in a few weeks. Jon had other plans: this random Tuesday evening date night was perfect. Plus, the pressure of hiding the ring was just too much! Once Megan said "YES!" and the ring was safely on her finger (and out of Jon's possession), it was champagne on the house and several excited FaceTime calls to friends and family to round off a perfect evening.

Megan and Jon are so excited to continue their joyous and adventurous life together filled with love and laughter, as husband and wife. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
