Our Wedding

Who would have ever known this girl would meet her true love at work? Definitely not me- I mean after all were supposed to keep work and love life separate! I began working at an animal hospital shortly before graduating with my Veterinary Technician degree. He was already working there when I started. We slowly got to know each other at work and then started hanging out with friends outside of work... this then lead to some one on one hangouts...dates? maybe I was oblivious to how he felt (I am horrible at reading guys). Then on May 7th 2014 we decided to hangout one on one at night(this was more like a date!). He had never seen the movie Clue and I felt he needed to see it( I know its an old movie but so funny and 3 endings?!). When we sat to watch the movie and he sat really close to me - being obvious at this point that he was super into me. Once the movie was finished he walked me to my car, where we said good byes and he leaned in for a hug, but it wasn't a quick hug- it was one of those long hugs and I embraced it. As we slowly parted he leaned in again and kissed me. My heart began to race and I felt those little butterflies in my stomach, I hadn’t felt like this in a long time. Being a thinker my mind was on fire-thoughts flooded in as I drove home that night... What does this mean? Are we a thing now? Does he want to be my boyfriend or are we casually dating? We shouldn’t tell people at work..what if it ends bad? ...Only time would tell...

The Beginning

Every year we started going to the city around the holidays to visit the famous Christkindl Market and then enjoy dinner at the Walnut Room with the big Christmas tree. November was still pretty warm this past year and I am usually off work on Thursdays. We decided since we were both off work the 30th and it was a weekday we would have a better day at the market and dinner with less crowds. (Weekends tend to be extra crowded and the wait at the Walnut Room is usually a hour or two). November 30th 2017 We made our way into the city. It was still warm for this time of the year so we were happy we didn't have to freeze, be trekking through snow or slip on ice. I contacted my sister to see if she was free since she lives in the city- he asked if she was getting dinner with us and I said I wasn’t sure (not knowing his plans 😂). We ended up meeting with her and her girlfriend at the market for a bit, looking at ornaments, enjoying a stuffed pretzel, and sipping some cocoa in their cute little mugs(we have a few they have different ones every year). Soon enough dinner time approached and my sister and her girlfriend decided to stay at the market a little longer since we were there before them( You are thinking my sister knew- but my sister didn’t know what was happening at dinner!) so we went off to dinner. The restaurant had no wait so it was really becoming a perfect day nice weather, no long lines- little did I know what was going to happen after dinner.... The dinner The hostess brought us in to sit down and Zach had asked for a table right next to the tree (their tree is so pretty if we can we try to sit by it- doesn’t always happen when we go on weekends). They had a cute little table left perfect for us. We ordered our meals and just enjoyed dinner. For dessert we always order their frango mint pie (it is one thing you cannot end your night without if you go there).Once we finished the pie- we decided to finish our drinks and enjoy the tree a little more before heading back home. I mentioned we needed to take a picture by the tree like we always do and Zach of course agreed. The Big Moment I began to stand up and gather my things together to take a picture and then be ready to head out. Zach asked"what are you doing?" and I'm just like "uh getting ready to take a picture and then go?" Zach replied " I need a minute still" so I sat back down and said "oh ok". He started messing with a zipper on his jacket and I know he keeps his wallet in there so I figure he is putting his wallet away or something and getting ready to go. Then he said "So I know your not into big public things but I thought this would be ok... Megan Luebke will you marry me??" as he shows what he pulled out of his jacket.. a small black box and opens it. Inside is this beautiful diamond ring and I am speechless. (Yup I was completely clueless as to what was happening). I say " Is this for real?" (haha I know, but again I was clueless and couldn't believe it was happening). I began to tear up as he laughs at me and replied "yes". I start crying (yup crying not just a few tears) and sputter my reply "YES!". Zach responded "why are you crying?" I say "I don't know I’m just so happy!" and we both laugh and I take the ring and put it on my finger. I reached across the table and said" I love you so much!!" I was a little shaky from all the excitement. Zach replied “I love you more.” We waved a waitress over to take our picture with the tree and she comments "I love your ring!" and I reply "thank you". She then says "I saw you crying ... OMG did he propose?! I smile and say "yes". She grabs my phone for the picture and says "Congratulations!" She takes our picture (shown above) and we then gather our things and head back outside to look at the famous Christmas windows before heading back home. I couldn't stop smiling all night and I still can't. I will never forget that night and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life smiling with the greatest man&nbsp;I could ever ask for.&nbsp;
