I hadn’t ever really given Megan much thought. We had known each other for the better part of our lives, but didn’t know much about one another. I gave it some thought and said you know what, why not.

I thought she was very pretty (much better than her junior high days) and wanted to get to know her more. I told my family I was going to ask Megan out on a date, and my sister's first reaction was: “ew, Megan???” Classic Bella. She always has a way with words.

Despite being set back from the start, in typical Megan fashion, she won them over, and some days I would argue that they like her more than me (only kidding a little).

Megan’s birthday was coming up and I made sure to text her happy birthday right at midnight. A few days later was Valentine’s Day where I was to make my big move. Our school always had a flower sale that morning, and would pass them out in the afternoon. She sent me a thank you text later that day. Little did I know that February 13th would be the last day I wouldn’t talk to this wonderful, beautiful, kind, smart, outgoing (sometimes wild…if you know you know), creative woman I get to call mine.

Time with her is the way I want to spend the rest of my life. I am privileged and will forever thank God that I get to call her mine.
