Our Wedding

Our story started through a mutual group of friends during the middle of Covid a time filled with four wheeler rides, bonfires, late nights, and making memories together almost every weekend. What started as casual hangouts quickly turned into spending nearly every day together, whether we were out riding with friends or just enjoying the simple moments. Our first official date was a simple one, but one we’ll always remember walking and talking by the river in Grand Rapids. Somewhere between the conversation, the laughs, and the peaceful river views, it became clear that this was the start of something special. A few months later, Colin gave me a key to his house, and not long after that, asked me to move in. Ironically, it ended up being the same house I partied at during my freshman year of college back in 2017/2018… although I was never invited back after that. Funny how life works out. After almost a year together, Colin officially asked me to be his girlfriend, and from there our life together only continued to grow. We added our miniature labradoodle to the family, moved to the countryside (twice) and welcomed our two beautiful kids into the world. Little did I know, Colin had apparently been planning for our future much earlier than I realized. The same day we told my parents we were pregnant, he also asked my dad for his blessing to marry me all while somehow keeping it completely to himself. Looking back now, I can only imagine the amount of stress he was carrying that day while acting totally normal, and I had absolutely no idea. Then came one of our favorite memories yet. Before heading down by the river in Grand Rapids, we stopped at McQueen’s Apple Orchard for doughnuts that, unfortunately, turned out to be hard and dry which definitely wasn’t the romantic moment I had in mind. Little did I know, Colin had much bigger plans. Once we got down by the river, the same place where we had our first date, he completely surprised me by getting down on one knee and asking me to marry him. What started with bonfires, four wheeler rides, and a group of friends turned into building a life, a home, and a family together and now we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
