Do you have lodging recommendations for out of town guests?

Yes! Please see the "Lodging & Travel" page for information on hotel room blocks and other lodging suggestions.

What is the closest airport to Annapolis?

BWI. Please see the "Lodging & Travel" page for additional information on airports close to Annapolis.

What are the wedding venues' parking policies?

The church (St. Mary's) allows for parking ONLY during the ceremony. All cars need to be removed following the ceremony. The reception venue (Annapolis Yacht Club) DOES NOT have any parking. Please see the parking section at the bottom of this page for long term parking recommendations.

Will transportation be provided to guests on the wedding day?

No. Due to the proximity of the ceremony, reception and Annapolis Waterfront Hotel, transportation will not be provided to guests. If needed, please bring a pair of shoes you can comfortably walk in (Please note, Annapolis does has several cobblestone streets). Uber and Lyft are great alternatives as well.

Are children invited to the wedding and reception?

No. While we love your little ones, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception an adults-only event.

Are the ceremony and the reception indoors?

Yes, both the ceremony and reception will be indoors. If the weather is nice, the reception cocktail hour will be held outside (Annapolis Yacht Club).

What is Annapolis weather like in April?

Typically, the high will be in the upper 60s and the low for the day will be the upper 40s and rain is a good possibility. That being said, it is Maryland, and it could get into the 80s or go as low as the 20s! Be sure to check the forecast as the wedding approaches for a better idea of the weather. Keep in mind, Annapolis is a waterfront town and it may be a few degrees cooler by the water, especially if there is a slight breeze.

May I take pictures during the church ceremony?

No. St. Mary's has asked that guests refrain from taking pictures and/or recording the ceremony. They have also asked that all guests turn off their cell phones.

May I take pictures during the reception at the Yacht Club?

Absolutely!! Please take as many photos and videos as you would like! Be sure to share them with us please 😁 Please remember to keep your phones on silent or vibrate while at the reception. Our hashtags are: #LoveAtFirstShot and #FriendzoneToEndzone. We will have QR code at the wedding that you will be able to scan to upload any photos or videos that you take.

May I throw rice/flower petals or blow bubbles to celebrate?

No. The throwing of rice, birdseed, confetti, flower petals, the releasing of doves, bubbles, or balloons are not permitted anywhere on the property of the church nor the property of the yacht club.

What should I do in between the ceremony and the reception?

Relax and explore! Annapolis has a lot of great shops, restaurants, and bars. If you stick to Main Street, Ego Alley (the waterfront/dock area), and Eastport, you'll still be walking distance (less than a mile) to the reception. Please see the map below and the "Annapolis Guide" page for further suggestions.

What food will be served during the reception?

The reception will start with an hour of cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres. Seared tuna, Maryland crab cakes, chicken spring rolls, and fajita chicken in a corn tostada will be served. For dinner, we are having a buffet of greek salad, roasted potatoes, Brussel sprouts, salmon, and beef tenderloin.

Why is the wedding in Annapolis?

Annapolis is a very special place for us. Not only was Megan baptized in St. Mary's Church (same church we are getting married in), but Megan's family has had a family house in the Annapolis neighborhood of Bay Ridge since 1933. Megan's maternal grandparents met in 1946 at a beach party in the neighborhood; Megan and her mother have spent every summer of their life in Bay Ridge, and Bay Ridge is filled with other cousin houses as well. For Sean, this is where he met Diego, the only dog he will ever willingly pet and love (Sean is allergic and avoids all dogs). There is a lot of family history in Annapolis and we are excited, and feel so blessed to be able to add to that long history and tradition.

Why was April 20, 2024 selected as the wedding date?

Sean proposed to Megan on April 20, 2023, which means we will be getting married exactly 1 year from the date we got engaged. Also 4-20-24 (and 4-20-2024) is a palindrome and considered to be a "lucky" day.

Do the stamps on the invitation have a special meaning?

Yes! Megan collected vintage stamps to write a "stamp story" about our relationship. Going left to right, the story is: Megan is from Maryland and Sean is from Maine. We met at an Ohio State football game. We fell in love. We're getting married in Annapolis, and we will live happily ever after.

Will you explain the artwork featured on the cover of the details insert?

Sure! The flags are nautical flags, a nod to the sailing/boating culture of Annapolis, MD. The three flags at the top spell out our soon-to-be monogram: M, C, S (Megan, Campbell, Sean). The flags at the bottom spell out the date of our wedding: 4-20-24. The crab, which represents Megan as a bride, is a female Maryland blue crab, and the claws are in the shape of an O. The lobster, which represents Sean as a groom, is a male Maine lobster, and the claws are in the shape of H. Together, the crab and the lobster spell "O-H", which is one half of a popular Ohio State cheer.
