After Kyle spent months deciding the perfect proposal spot and Megan guessing every one of them, Kyle knew he had to catch her off guard. Megan loves hiking, Kyle would rather do anything but go on a hike. Kyle made Megan a compromise and promised her one hike a year. Leading up to All Star break, Megan decided she wanted to do their hike while Kyle had a few days off work in July 2023. Kyle decided this would be the perfect time to pop the question as Megan would never expect it on a hike. A few days leading up to the hike, Kyle was trying to plan the exact hike so he could hire a photographer for the special moment. Megan being Megan, she said “I’ll plan it all, don’t worry”. Kyle turned down 3 hikes before agreeing to hike Lake Isabelle. Upon arriving at the trail head there was arrows pointing every direction. They had lost service 20 miles prior so were unable to look up the route on maps. Megan insisted she knew the way and to not worry about it. Kyle taking the advice of the girl is always right, decided to trust Megan and the hike began. The hike was supposed to be 3.4 miles, so they knew around 1.7 miles they were supposed to hit the lake where Kyle had a photographer waiting to propose. It was when they hit 3 miles and saw no one in route that they realized they were lost. They found a lake 4 miles in which Kyle knew was not the end point and they still needed to find Lake Isabelle. However, again, Megan being Megan, she sat on a rock and said “no, this is perfect.. sit down, relax and just enjoy the views”. Kyle's nerves started to set in as he was pacing back and forth asking every person that passed “Where is Lake Isabelle?!” Finally someone told them Lake Isabelle is 2 miles up the mountain. Kyle knew he had to get there before the photographer left as they were already an hour late. Megan finally agreed to finish the hike as Kyle starts to sprint up the side of the mountain. Finally, 2 hours late, they made it. Megan sat down on a nearby rock and Kyle scanned the area for his photographer knowingly the only thing Megan wanted was for the proposal to be captured and have a picture of it. Quickly, Kyle went searching in his backpack asking Megan if she wanted a snack. Megan, over the hike, says “No! I am tired and just want to sit here.” Megan turns around and sees Kyle on one knee popping the question. Megan in disbelief as Kyle had finally caught her off guard replies with “No! You are joking!”. Kyle placed the ring around Megan’s finger and asked the question again as he still thinks Megan said no before she said yes to this day! After finally making it back down the mountain, a 3.4 mile hike turned in to a 8.9 mile hike was well worth it! Lake Isabelle is now Megan’s favorite hike and Kyle says he will never go on a hike with Megan again!

This 2.5 mile pedestrian promenade is filled with activities for both the adults and the kids. You can rent a bike and enjoy the cool ocean breeze as you pedal or take a leisurely walk along the waterfront. Several restaurants, bars and shops along the way!

Hollywood Beach Broadwalk

Conveniently located at 5 o’clock Somewhere Bar and Grill, Waterway Adventures offers Paddleboard and Kayak Rentals, Water Taxi and Guided Eco Tours. The Water Taxi has stops at Las Olas, Galleria Mall, and dining/shopping/entertainment venues along the Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale Bay Area.
