We are so happy to announce that we will be tying the knot this year!
It all began when Jeremy’s youngest brother graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base where I work as a photographer. The whole family came into the portrait studio wanting a family photo. It was after 4 p.m., and family photos end at noon. But since all three boys were in uniform, my boss said I could help them.
As the boys were getting ready, I started talking to the grandma and mom and dad and was getting to know them. Then Jeremy came out of the restroom and said that one of his brothers couldn’t fit into his pants. I said that I didn’t want to know that and smiled and kind of laughed. Jeremy noticed and came over to me. We just started talking. Fifteen minutes later, they all went outside except his brother Jonathon. I was thinking that Jeremy was really cute. I clocked out and wrote my name and number on a pink sticky note and signed it “photo girl.” I also put on the note, “I thought you were really cute.” I gave the note to Jonathan and asked him to give it to Jeremy.
Oh my gosh!! I waited for hours. Finally, around 8 o’clock, Jeremy texted me. We started texting and talking and getting to know each other. Then we started dating. After a couple of months went by, Jeremy told me he was getting deployed overseas for six months. Oh my gosh!! I was scared since I didn’t know how I would handle him being in a totally, totally different time zone and day. He reassured me that we would work together to make it happen. For six months, we Face-Timed and texted all the time as much as we could. Finally, after the six months, he came home. Five days later, I flew out to Las Vegas to see him for two weeks. I flew back to Las Vegas a month later. That’s when he gave me a beautiful promise ring.
Finally, for my 21st birthday back in September, Jeremy flew down to San Antonio to be with me and my family for a week and a half. We did go to Dallas to visit with his family for three days. It was all super fun. He got to be with my parents and got to talk to them. He worked on my car with my dad and everything. Little did I know that he asked for their blessing to marry me.
It was late Tuesday night, and it was raining. After we went roller skating and had dinner, he wanted to go to a park. But I was being a blonde and did not understand what he was trying to do. I told him no because it was raining really hard and that we should go home. He finally agreed, and so we went back to my parents’ house. I forgot my phone in the car, and apparently he forgot his jacket in the car. We both went back out to the car. It was still pouring down buckets. I reached over to get my phone in the car, and he was right behind me on his knee. I turned around and was, like, oh my gosh!! He proposed, and I said yessssss. So here we are now.
