We are asking you to please follow our dress code. For the ceremony please wear business casual attire, we want everyone looking amazing. For the reception please dress business casual, something that is allows you to get your dance moves on. Joe and I appreciate you!

When booking a hotel online it can be a bit confusing.   There are two ways to book a room.   Calling- You can call the hotel and say you are booking a room for the Clendenen-Peterson wedding.  Online- In the invitation we have provided a QR code that takes you to the booking website. At the top of the website you will see the dates we have available. Click edit details and you can pick the check in and check out dates that best fit your needs.   If you have any trouble you can always call or text either of us and we will gladly help however we are able.

Our Story

Joseph and Megan originally met back in 2014. Joseph was in the military and was stationed in Kentucky and Megan lived in Ohio. They were just about 9 hours away from each other. To make their long distance relationship not seem so far apart, they had Skype dates where they would have dinner together sometimes, do their own things but have each others company, watch scary movies, watch their favorite T.V show “The Vampire Diaries” together (which is where their song for their first dance at their wedding came from) and they would even fall asleep together on Skype. They dated for a short time and then went their separate ways for about five years. They knew even back then that their story wasn’t over. In mid 2019 Joseph and Megan had reconnected and started to become friends where they later turned into best friends. In June of 2019 Joseph had made the trip to Ohio to see Megan again for the first time since 2014. That was the beginning of their forever. They fell in love with each other again but this time on a deeper level. Both of them realized pretty quickly that they were each other’s soul mates. Joseph and Megan did long distance where Joseph lived in Indiana and Megan lived in Ohio for one year. In 2020 they found a house to rent in Ohio and they decided to move in together. The original plan was to only be in Ohio for about two years and then move back to Indiana but life had other plans. Throughout their relationship they’ve gone on so many adventures and have created so many memories together. In the summer of 2024, Joseph had asked Megan’s father for his permission to marry his daughter and in October had asked Megan’s mother and sister for their permission to marry their daughter/sister. Later on in October Joseph purchased the ring and then had Megan set up a date for a photo shoot with their close friend under the impression of it just being a regular photo shoot together since they hadn’t gotten their photos taken since 2019. After Megan got with her close friend and set up a date, Joseph texted the close friend and told her that he was planning on proposing to Megan during the shoot. On November 2nd, 2024, Joseph and Megan went to the rose garden at Mill Creek Park where the photos had begun. This entire time Joseph had the ring box tucked into his sock and Megan had no idea what was to come. Their photographer/close friend had them write on leaves one thing they admired about the other and one thing they were excited about the future. This is where Joseph’s proposal plan was about to take place. Once they were done writing on their leaves they walked down to an area of the park that had a gorgeous waterfall like tree and had gone inside it. They were positioned to be back to back with their leaves facing out and on the count of three they were to turn around and show each other their leaves. Once they turned around and faced each other this is when Megan noticed that Joseph had written on one of his leaves “Marry me?”. Joseph then got on one knee, pulled the ring box out of his very clever hiding spot and asked Megan to be his wife. Over the moon excited Megan of course said YES! She then proceeded to walk around the entire rest of the photo shoot singing and screaming “LOOK OUT FUTURE MRS. CLENDENEN COMING THROUGH”. Their story is far from over and they cannot wait to create more memories together!
