Things to Do

We Can't Wait to Share our City with You!

Baltimore truly is a city of neighborhoods.

If you find yourself with extra time, check out some of our recommendations below.

Historic Fells Point

One of the oldest neighborhoods in Baltimore, Fell’s Point was once a bustling shipbuilding port and was home to jazz singer Billie Holiday and abolitionist Frederick Douglass. Its visage has remained largely unchanged since its founding in 1763 with Belgian block streets, waterfront restaurants, and boutique shops.

Recommendations include Thames Street Oyster House (one of our favorite restaurants!), Peter's Inn, Barcocina, Sagamore Pendry - The Cannon Room, Pitango Bakery + Cafe, Sacre Sucre Pastry Studio, Su Casa Furniture, EC Pops for all your Maryland souvenirs, and The Horse You Came in on Saloon (rumored to be Edgar Allan Poe's last stop before his mysterious death).

See the City from Federal Hill

During the War of 1812 and Civil War, Federal Hill was a well known lookout. Today, Federal Hill Park captures one of the most iconic views of the Inner Harbor.

You can check out the American Visionary Arts Museum, adjacent to Federal Hill, walk along the waterfront, visit the Baltimore Museum of Industry, or grab a bite to eat at Cross Street Market or one of the many neighborhood bars & restaurants located in Federal Hill and Locust Point.

Our favorites include Wiley Gunters, Shottis Point, Diamondback Brewing, and Limoncello.

Explore Fort McHenry

Known as “The Birthplace of the National Anthem," Fort McHenry is the only National Monument and Historic Shrine in the National Park Service. During the War of 1812, the Fort's garrison stood firm during a severe naval bombardment by British forces.

Discover Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon is a hip and elegant neighborhood filled with grand old mansions that once belonged to Baltimore’s 19th-century industrialists. At the heart of Mount Vernon is the original Washington Monument (climb to the top for amazing views of the city).

Check out the Walters Art Museum, the Maryland Center for History and Culture (where the original copy of the “Star-Spangled Banner” is kept), or the stunning George Peabody Library to peruse six floors of more than 300,000 books.

Shop & Dine in Harbor East

Signature shops include Under Armour Brand House, Lululemon, Patagonia, Sephora, J Crew, Anthropologie & many more!

Restaurant recommendations include Loch Bar (seafood), Maximon (Mexican), Azumi (Japanese), Tagliata (Italian), and Kneads Bakeshop & Cafe. For the best view of Baltimore Harbor, head to The Bygone on the top floor of the Four Seasons Hotel.
