If you've had a chance to talk with Travis, you've probably heard our story, but it's still fun to put it in writing :)

Travis and I met at a concert in Minneapolis between 2008-2009 and for the next 10 years, Travis would sporadically message me on Facebook, or comment on something I posted. Needless to say, Travis did not want me forget about him ;)

In December of 2018, Travis saw that I had family in Portland, Oregon and that I was a snowboarder. Whoa, hold the phone...Travis lives in Portland and he's an avid snowboarder, could the stars finally be aligning?!? Now was his chance to cast the line. He reached out again on social media for the first time in a long time, and let me know that he lived in Portland and the next time I was out there I should meet up with him, because in his words "I'm a great tour guide!"

About 5 months later, Travis reached out again and ask if he could call me. That phone call lasted over 5+ hours as we could literally not stop talking. We found out that we were both heading to northern California the following week, which was quite a coincidence, so we decided we would have our first date in Woodland, CA before I headed up to my sister's graduation the following day. The date was amazing! It didn't even have to be said, we knew we were going to give a relationship a serious try.

For the next 7 months, Travis and I did the long-distance thing. He traveled a lot for work in those days, so he was lucky enough to have stacked up a ton of frequent flyer miles. We started to realize that if we could do long distances at the start of a relationship, we could handle anything together. We were falling in love :)

Fast forward to Oct of 2019. I am at the pinnacle of my career in Minnesota and life is good, but we were ready to take the step in our relationship. We pondered him moving to Minnesota, but however we stacked it, Oregon was the adventure that we knew we were destined for. I moved to Portland in November of 2019. I found a great ADU that accepted pets and offered a short-term rental. Travis and I had already done long-distance for 7 months, but we waited for another 6 before we found our first place together.

We settled on a townhome in Vancouver, Washington for the next 12 months. We used this time to save money and travel locally, often camping and enjoying the wonders of the Pacific Northwest. 6 months in, Travis proposed. We took a trip out to the coast where we hiked up a very muddy mountainside to find ourselves standing at the edge of the world looking out towards our future. He absolutely nailed the proposal :) It was the most beautiful moment in my life. Now, it was time to start house hunting.

After months of online searching, Travis found our dream home. The house was 45 minutes closer to Mount Hood, has a rainforest-like trail in the backyard, and came with a hot tub to come home to after a day of snowboarding at the mountain. We couldn't believe our offer got accepted a few days later.

We've made this house into our home and couldn't be happier! We hope you get to swing by and see it while you are here for the wedding!
