How They Met

Megan and Dan met while attending the University of Windsor for the Bachelor of Social Work program in 2015. Through many classes, work assignments, etc. the stars aligned and Megan and Dan began to regularly interact during the final year of the program while preparing to apply for the Master of Social Work program - Megan asked Dan to review her personal essay and to her surprise he provided real critiques, comments, and corrections. Thankfully, his and her essays were good enough to get them in!

Once in the Masters program, things heated up - they began to sit next to each other in shared classes and eventually became “study buddies”. A simple study session consisting of little studying, a foot rub and a first kiss would seal the deal on this fling. They started dating in spring 2017 and went until the summer - we’ll say it’s Dan’s fault as he tends to overthink things.

Upon reuniting in winter 2017, the relationship continued through the final year of the MSW program which would require a long-distance relationship - Dan in Sarnia and Megan in Windsor. Megan moved to Sarnia from Tecumseh in summer 2018 where she lived with her grandfather Ted and his partner Bonnie while working for the Grand Bend Health Centre. Dan would work for the Sarnia-Lambton CAS while living with at home with his family.

Both of them worked hard during the day and enjoyed each other’s company in the evening which would lead to Megan staying at the Falconer/Brant home far more often than where she “lived” with Ted and Bonnie. Megan moved in with Dan and Co. which included Ben, Julianna, Caroline and Aaron, so it was a busy household. The time spent in the family home gave the Falconer/Brant clan a chance to know Megan like a daughter. Despite how wonderful and amazing the time at home was, the couple needed to spread their wings.

Megan and Dan rented in Sarnia from 2019-2021 enjoying new opportunities in work, life, etc. which included new jobs with the Canadian Mental Health Association, playing beach volleyball, and making many new friends! They purchased their home in November 2021 and began making memories like hosting friends and family for gatherings, adopting 2 cats, getting engaged, and especially, having family come by to help fix issues.
