Our Wedding

We were in the same circles. Knew the same people. Passed each other often in law school, but we had never really talked. Until one night, during Megan’s second semester, something changed. We went out “just as friends.” We ended up at The Wheel Barrel, Megan’s favorite bar at the time, and it was there Tyler got his first real glimpse into who she was. She lit up the room. She made strangers feel like old friends and had this rare ability to make everyone feel like the most important person there. Tyler, quiet and observant, watched her from across the table, curious, a little in awe, and already drawn in. After the bar, we went back to Tyler’s apartment to watch a movie. Pirates of the Caribbean was our first. Megan stayed that night… and never left.

Once Upon a Random Tuesday

A few weeks later, Tyler picked American Psycho for our next movie night, a bold choice. But Megan, pursing her JD and Master’s in Criminal Justice and love for psychological complexity, was hooked. We quickly realized that we didn’t just click, we complemented each other. Our connection deepened over shared interests: our mutual love for storytelling, long conversations, and the way we both approach the world with curiosity and heart. Tyler was thoughtful, analytical, and steady. Megan was expressive, warm, and fiercely passionate. Together, we found a rhythm that made sense. Then the world shut down. Spring break hit. Classes moved online. Work paused. And on day one of lockdown, Tyler turned on Contagion. A bit intense? Maybe. But also very “us.” We spent our earliest days together inside that small apartment, playing The Last of Us, binge-watching Suits (with Tyler pausing frequently to point out every ethics rule violation), and slowly building a life, without even realizing it.

The Plot Twist

Since that first unexpected night, we’ve built something real—something rooted, evolving, and entirely ours. We’ve graduated law school together, passed two bar exams (we’re still recovering), launched our careers, and created a life that feels equal parts ambition, laughter, and grace. Tyler was an engineer long before he became a lawyer—he holds a degree in biomedical engineering and has a brain wired for logic, precision, and thoughtful problem-solving. Megan, with her master’s in Criminal Justice and unmatched emotional intuition, is the heart of everything. She leads with curiosity, compassion, and the kind of humor that can brighten even the hardest days. Together, we balance each other. We challenge each other. We hold each other up. Our life is built from small, sacred rituals—takeout nights, long drives, late-night debates about movies, and spontaneous conversations that somehow last hours. Tyler shares his favorite podcasts like he’s curating a playlist just for Megan. Megan, in return, reads him the weirdest, most chaotic parts of her books with dramatic flair, whether he asks for it or not. We laugh constantly. We listen closely. And we grow together in every season. And maybe most meaningfully, we brought each other back to what matters most. Tyler brought Megan back to church—and together, we returned to faith. Slowly, quietly, and with intention, we found our spiritual home and began building a foundation bigger than ourselves. That sense of peace and purpose has been one of the greatest gifts of our relationship. And through it all, we’ve had stories. Movies have always been our shared language. For us, they’re not just entertainment—they’re memory, meaning, and milestones. We remember where we were in life by what we were watching. We pause scenes to debate ethical dilemmas. We analyze plotlines like they’re legal briefs. And we cheer for our favorite Oscar picks like it’s personal—because to us, it is.

A Life in Stories

The night Tyler proposed started like any other fun night out—we were headed to the St. Thomas gala with our close friends, Brock and Brenna. The evening was full of laughter, champagne, and community. At one point, our priest, Father Drew, even joked with Tyler, asking playfully, “So… when are you going to propose?” He had no idea the answer was: tonight. Tyler had a plan. He knew what he wanted to say, and he knew the moment was right. When we got home that night, it was quiet. Just us. No audience, no spectacle—just warmth, intention, and love. Tyler asked. Megan said yes. And even without a ring, without all the usual pageantry, the moment was everything. Simple. Sacred. Ours.

Foreshadowing & Forever

Now we’re getting married. And not just anywhere, we’re getting married at St. Thomas Aquinas, our home parish. It’s where we’ve grown in our faith, built community, and quietly created a rhythm of life together. From Sunday mornings (sometimes running late) to sitting side by side in quiet reflection, this space has become a part of who we are. It also holds a special piece of our family history, it’s where Tyler’s parents were married. We love that we get to begin ours in the same sacred space, surrounded by the people who have shaped us. St. Thomas isn’t just the setting for our ceremony, it’s part of our foundation. A place of peace, love, and meaning. This wedding is more than a celebration of the day, it’s the celebration of every step that brought us here. From law school to late-night takeout, bar exams to binge-watching The Last of Us, whispered prayers to whispered movie quotes, we’ve built a life that’s full of love, a little bit of chaos, and a lot of laughter. We can’t wait to begin this next chapter with you there to witness it. As we step into marriage, we do so grounded in faith and surrounded by love. What began as two lives, distinct and different, will now become one. In joining our lives, we are not only exchanging vows, but building a covenant. One that reflects grace, patience, laughter, and God’s presence in all things. Megan will change her last name from Storie to Laudick, and while the name may change, the heart of the story continues, stronger, deeper, and now written together. With God at the center, this isn’t just a new chapter. It’s the beginning of a lifelong calling. And we’re so grateful you’re here to be part of it.

Brooke isn’t just Megan’s cousin—she’s been her constant, her confidante, and her closest friend since the very beginning. Born just two months apart, they’ve grown up side by side, sharing childhood memories, hard-earned wisdom, and unconditional love through every season of life. Brooke has been there for every moment that mattered, and there’s no one Megan trusts more to stand beside her on this day, and always.

Tom is Tyler’s longtime golf partner, law school ally, and one of the quickest wits you’ll ever meet. From the first semester of law school to today, Tom has been a steady presence and a reliable source of sharp humor, perfectly timed one-liners, and bold (but somehow convincing) arguments about everything from sports to sandwich rankings. He’s the kind of friend who shows up, keeps things light, and makes every conversation more entertaining. Tyler knew from day one that Tom would be standing with him on this one.

Bridesmaids and Groomsmen

Megan met Diana through the wild world of law—and quickly realized she’d found not just a colleague, but a lifelong friend. Though they practice different types of law, they’ve teamed up on trivia nights, softball fields, spontaneous adventures, and now even a real case together. Diana is smart, loyal, endlessly fun, and always down to say “yes” to the unexpected. Megan’s so grateful their paths crossed—and that Diana will be by her side for this next big win.

Tom and Tyler met working at BJ’s and immediately bonded over sarcasm, skepticism, and a shared goal of surviving the restaurant industry with their dignity (mostly) intact. Since then, they’ve spent years trading conspiracy theories, planning vacations around stand-up shows, and having debates that start as jokes and somehow end with PowerPoint slides. Tom knew Epstein was a thing before Epstein was a thing, which pretty much tells you everything you need to know. Tyler still claims Tom has distant mob ties, but if that’s true, he’s the most polite mafia member in history. Tom brings sharp humor, wild stories, and just the right amount of chaos—and honestly, it’s a miracle this wedding isn’t happening in a comedy club or under witness protection.

Kristen has been Megan’s ride-or-die since undergrad, law school, and every twist of life in between. She’s the friend who shows up without being asked, tells the truth even when it’s hard, and somehow always knows exactly what Megan needs to hear. Whether they’re catching up over brunch or just picking up right where they left off, Kristen is a constant—honest, loving, and absolutely irreplaceable.

Brock and Tyler met while working at BJ’s and eventually became longtime roommates, holding the line as the clean, reasonable ones in a house full of chaos. While others were busy being loud, weird, or mysteriously never doing their dishes, Brock and Tyler were just trying to keep the house livable. Since those glory days, their lives have upgraded: their significant others became inseparable, New Year’s Eve is now a tradition, and Topgolf dates are a regular thing—though Brock is still working on his golf game, one swing (and occasional whiff) at a time. He’s loyal, easy to laugh with, and always up for a good time—just don’t ask him to live with strangers ever again.

Jordan was Megan’s very first—and best—friend in law school. What began as casual complaining turned into a full-on sisterhood built on late-night study sessions, life talks over drinks, and a mutual hatred of cold calls. They’ve survived outlines, courtroom chaos, and more than one bad group project. Now both practicing family law, Jordan and Megan regularly trade case horror stories and mental health check-ins like seasoned pros. She’s equal parts therapist, truth-teller, and comedic relief—always ready with honest advice, a sharp one-liner, or a reminder that it’s okay to cry (but only after court).

Joe is Tyler’s law school trivia partner, pandemic survival buddy, and arguably the smartest person in any room—though Tyler would never admit that out loud. They were practically inseparable during law school, spending the COVID lockdown talking politics, studying, and watching way too much YouTube. Joe is a ride-or-die friend, a dedicated socialist, and the only person who would create a “socialist version” of Monopoly… and still lose at it to Tyler, the capitalist. Thoughtful, loyal, and unintentionally hilarious, Joe is one of Tyler’s closest friendships—and definitely the one most likely to bring up wealth redistribution in a groomsmen group chat.

What started as an unexpected connection in law school turned into one of Megan’s most treasured friendships. From classroom stress to Wichita adventures and Junior League milestones, Tymber has been a constant—loyal, genuine, and full of heart. Together, they’ve grown into adulthood, built community, and shared some of Megan’s favorite memories along the way. S

Todd is Megan’s older brother and Tyler’s soon-to-be brother-in-law, although Tyler definitely had to earn that title. Approval didn’t come easy. It wasn’t until the two bonded over DragonBall that Todd decided Tyler could stick around. Since then, they’ve found common ground in anime, sarcasm, and the shared experience of trying to keep up with Megan. Todd brings classic big brother energy, sharp humor, and just the right amount of quiet judgment. Tyler may be gaining a wife, but earning Todd’s respect might have been the real achievement.

Kelsi may be Megan’s sister-in-law, but she’s quickly become so much more. With her thoughtful spirit, steady presence, and genuine heart, she welcomed Megan into the family with kindness and grace. Their friendship has grown naturally, built on shared values and a quiet kind of trust—and Megan couldn’t be more thankful to gain not just a sister-in-law, but a lifelong friend.

TC is Tyler’s lifetime best friend, daily texting debate partner, and the loudest guy in the room, in the best possible way. Their friendship has been built on years of nonstop conversations, constant sports arguments, and a shared love of movies, sarcasm, and showing up for each other without question. TC is the kind of friend who never misses a big moment and somehow makes every regular day more entertaining. He’s a movie guru, a certified badass, and has been fully adopted by Tyler’s sisters as one of their own. Whether he’s bringing the energy, the laughs, or just his usual chaotic charm, TC is an unforgettable part of Tyler’s life and this celebration wouldn’t be complete without him.

As the youngest in the family, Kacie brings a spark of energy, joy, and fun wherever she goes. She’s Megan’s sister-in-law, but from the start, she’s felt like a little sister and a friend rolled into one. Whether she’s making everyone laugh or grounding the moment with her big heart, Kacie reminds Megan how lucky she is to be joining a family that feels like home.

Austin is Megan’s youngest brother—three years younger and just the right mix of observant, sarcastic, and quietly supportive. Marlee is Megan’s beautiful niece, though “niece” doesn’t quite do their relationship justice. Megan became an aunt at 12, so she and Marlee basically grew up together—more like built-in best friends than anything else. From the start, they’ve shared a love of music, perfectly timed sass, and a special talent for driving Todd (Marlee’s dad and Megan’s brother) absolutely crazy. Marlee met Tyler when she was just a little girl, and now she’s all grown up and making the whole family proud. Tyler isn’t just gaining a wife—he’s inheriting a smart, funny, and fiercely loyal niece too, and he couldn’t be luckier. Having Marlee as a junior bridesmaid is one of the most special parts of this day.

Whether it’s through a competitive board game or an intense round of Pitch, Miles brings a steady presence and his own unique energy to the mix. Tyler is proud to have him standing alongside him on this day and grateful to share the moment with someone who’s been part of so many good memories.

She’s also the only girl Uncle Tyler will ever let put makeup on him, which pretty much says it all. Having Tara as our cantor is an honor and a reflection of the meaningful role she’s played in both our faith and our friendship.

They talk almost every day, and their bond is far more sister than in-law.
