Our Story

In the fall of 2019, an unlikely set of events led to Megan and John's first date. An old and beloved admin at Goldman unfortunately passed away. John attended her funeral, and it was there that he ran into Betsy, an old coworker and, at the time, Megan's manager at EY. Betsy knew Megan had been looking for the right guy and after talking to John, she realized he was still single and might just be the perfect match. She immediately texted Megan, "I found someone for you." She convinced them to meet, telling both individuals that he/she loves Jesus, is close with his/her family, and could be a great fit.

A month later, the week before Thanksgiving 2019, John asked Megan out to a wine bar in Tribeca for a blind date. Through the early winter they went on 1-2 dates a week, getting to know each other better. Right as it seemed things were progressing, their relationship hit a curve ball: Covid-19 became a reality and they both moved out of the city and back home with their parents (John to Princeton and Megan to Bucks County). They spent the first month or two facetiming and then agreed to meet in person, keeping social distance (which didn't last long). At that point they still were not "official" but would meet almost every weekend for walks in the park, kayaking, tennis, anything they could think to do outside. In June, John (finally!) asked Megan to be his girlfriend.

They eventually moved back to the city and started spending more and more time together. Over the next few years they shared some great memories including some incredible trips to Portugal, California, and Antigua. They got to know and become part of each other's families. Spending time together with their families in their hometowns, at the lake and on both coasts of Florida. But they will tell you the small moments are what made them sure they wanted to spend forever together: a lazy afternoon nap during a golf tournament, playing a game or doing a puzzle together, going for a hike, or checking in after a busy day at work.

In December 2023, John took Megan back to the park where they became "official" during Covid. It was there that he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. <3 They cannot wait to say "I do" in front of all their friends and family and continue to write their love story for many, many years to come.
