Local Favorites

Ballard Farmers Market

5345 Ballard Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98107, USA

Seattle’s largest farmers market is every Sunday. There are food vendors and cute shops to browse in. Some of Megan’s favorite stores in the area are September, Woodland Mod, Lucca, and Prism. We also love Sabine, Stoneburner, and Hattie’s Hat for food.

It is also walking distance to the Nordic Museum, the Ballard Locks, and Ballard’s brewery district.

Ballard (Hiram M. Chittenden) Locks

3015 NW 54th St, Seattle, WA 98107, USA
(206) 780-2500

While it may see some tourists, the Ballard Locks are more frequented by locals. Watching the boats pass through and the salmon navigate the fish ladder during migration season is fascinating. The surrounding Carl S. English Jr. Botanical Garden is a peaceful place for a stroll.

What locals call the "Arb". A beautiful escape within the city, the Arboretum features a vast collection of plants from around the world. It’s less crowded than other parks and offers a tranquil setting for a leisurely walk or a paddle through the Arboretum’s waterways. It is a Danny favorite during the fall due to the vibrant colors of the changing leaves
