Fork in the Alley Brick Oven Pub. Megan's favorite watering hole! Also a quaint family-friendly restaurant, nestled in the heart of South Roanoke's neighborhood-- where everyone knows your name. Located convenient to the Roanoke River, Greenway, and one of our suggested hotels, Springhill Suites. Go See the Sunflowers!

You're just in time for the Beaver Dam Sunflower Festival! The flowers will be in full bloom. Take part in the largest sunflower festival and vendor show on the East Coast. Travel 25 minutes outside downtown Roanoke and explore fields of over 700,000 sunflowers! It's also where Megan spends a lot of time visiting her sister and where Megan and Mark took their engagement photos.

Take a Hike!

If you're feeling adventurous! The fall is the best time to take in the Blue Ridge Mountains and The Appalachian Trail is here to please. Roanoke is the largest city along the Appalachian Trail and the region is home to the Virginia Triple Crown, showcasing three of the best hiking trails in the Commonwealth - Dragon’s Tooth, McAfee Knob (Megan's favorite, with that famous picturesque view), and Tinker Cliffs. All within a short drive. Get outside!
