Fork in the Alley Brick Oven Pub. Megan's favorite watering hole! Also a quaint family-friendly restaurant, nestled in the heart of South Roanoke's neighborhood-- where everyone knows your name. Enjoy specialty hotdogs, brick oven pizzas, and other delicious American fare both outside and inside. Located convenient to the Roanoke River, Greenway, and one of our suggested hotels, Springhill Suites. Sneak around to the back of the building and you might still see a portrait of Megan in the window!

A must for lunch or dinner. A small spot, casual, and no-frills, the best burgers in town. Mark's favorite! You can see why when you read the long beer list. Megan says-- "Get extra special sauce for your fries!"

Free admission always! A newer Roanoke landmark that is sure to stand out. Megan will always recommend taking in some art while you are visiting. The Taubman boasts fascinating art from both their permanent and traveling collections.

You're just in time for the Beaver Dam Sunflower Festival! The flowers will be in full bloom. Take part in the largest sunflower festival and vendor show on the East Coast. Travel 25 minutes outside downtown Roanoke and explore fields of over 700,000 sunflowers! It's also where Megan spends a lot of time visiting her sister and where Megan and Mark took their engagement photos.

If you're feeling adventurous! The fall is the best time to take in the Blue Ridge Mountains and The Appalachian Trail is here to please. Roanoke is the largest city along the Appalachian Trail and the region is home to the Virginia Triple Crown, showcasing three of the best hiking trails in the Commonwealth - Dragon’s Tooth, McAfee Knob (Megan's favorite, with that famous picturesque view), and Tinker Cliffs. All within a short drive. Get outside!

Enjoy pre-prohibition cocktails and rustic cuisine at 1882 Lobby bar at the Pine Room at Hotel Roanoke. Sit underneath the restored night sky mural as seen in the pre-1939 hotel, and enjoy small plates or a selection from the full menu. Seating is first come first served and cannot be reserved. We will enjoy a post-nuptial nightcap here!
