Our Wedding

The story traces back to the year 2019 when Joshua and Meghan lived in the same apartment complex, Avalon Apartments in Wilmington, North Carolina. Every day, Meghan and Lucy would walk past Josh’s balcony without realizing it. They would go on to live their separate lives. Then, 2020 came and Meghan decided that it would be a good opportunity to spent time in Massachusetts with loved ones. When it came to the year 2022, Meghan decided it was time to move back to Wilmington. On one fateful (possibly tipsy) night in June, Meghan was on Hinge and decided to change her location to Wilmington to check out the local prospects before switching her location back to the Boston area. She fell asleep and woke up to one particular notification from a Joshua Johnston. Meghan found on his profile someone who looked kind, outdoorsy and goofy. It was then Meghan realized his location was in Wilmington, and not in Boston. Meghan messaged Josh back, saying that she is moving back to Wilmington in a few months, but for now is in Boston. Josh said something along the lines of cool and we should be friends and text! So, they did, with the simple get-to-know you questions, and realizing quickly that they had a lot in common, especially the fact that they lived in the same apartment complex at the same time and also have a love for the Red Sox. Texts turned into FaceTime dates, and between these exchanges, Josh jokingly said that he would come up to see a Red Sox game. Little did he know, Meghan would take him up on his offer. He began to look at tickets and flights. Josh and Meghan chose a game that was around the time that Meghan was moving back. After this, Josh, again, jokingly offered to help Meghan move, which then turned into plans. Fast forward to August, and Josh and Meghan finally met in person. In Boston, they went to see the Red Sox play the Blue Jays (and lose). They explored MIT, Harvard, and the Boston area. They clicked, and conversation and spending time together came easy. When it was time to load Meghan’s car up and head down to Wilmington, the 12-hour road trip became an 18-hour road trip (NY-NJ traffic sucks). However, that didnt stop the two from talking, singing, and joking all the way down to Wilmington. After this, they decided they’d be crazy to not give it a shot. Meghan and Josh met each other’s friends and family and spent quality time together. They kept getting closer, finding that they deeply cared for one another, which eventually lead to their “I love you” moment on Thanksgiving night. From the moment Josh and Meghan met, they have shared many queso dips from Islands (better than Moes and Chipotle), and attended sports games, weddings, family reunions, vacations, dog walks, lazy days, jokes, and weekly trivia nights. On November 21, 2023, Meghan and Joshua went to Acadia National Park to see sights, like Bass Harbor Lighthouse, Cadillac Mountain, and Ravens Nest, where Joshua proposed at sunset on the cliffs of Ravens Nest. And now we are here, and you are reading this. Welcome to our story, we had fun writing this, and hope you enjoyed, too! Theres much more to come!
