Antigonish Landing Trail

A 4-km return hike along an estuary of Antigonish Harbour, on the outskirts of town with 2 elevated platforms. Keep an eye out and enjoy the offer an unobstructed view of osprey, eagles & ducks in the wildlife sanctuary.

Keppoch Mountain

Being a former alpine ski hill, it has been revamped as a four-season outdoor recreation facility run by a non-profit organization. 40 kilometres of non-motorized, multi-use wilderness trail is supported by ample parking, a clubhouse, bathroom facilities both indoors and outdoors, a large patio, fire pit, bike repair and wash station, and ample seating both at the clubhouse and on the trails.

Arisaig Provincial Park

A small picnic park located near the community of Arisaig. It overlooks the warm waters of the Northumberland Strait and offers a fascinating window to life on earth some 443 to 417 million years ago. One of North America’s most continuously exposed sections of Silurian rock, representing 4 million years of earth history, is found here. These sedimentary rocks are rich in fossils and features that have helped geologists interpret the ancient environment of this area.

Cape George Lighthouse

Cape George Point Lighthouse is situated at Cape George Point in the Northumberland Shore region overlooking the waters of St. George’s Bay. Cape Breton Island and Prince Edward Island can be seen on a clear day since the lighthouse sits atop a high cliff and guides vessels into St. George’s Bay. Cape George Point Lighthouse is one of three trailheads for the Cape George Hiking Trail network.

The Antigonish Farmers’ Market started operation In 1995 with only 6 vendors; It has now grown to over 60. Each year the Antigonish Farmers’ Market attracts over 70,000 visitors with annual sales in excess of $700,000 – making it one of the largest Markets in Nova Scotia.
