Our story all started thanks to our amazing friends Nicole and Tim! They felt we might be a good match and they couldn’t have been more right!
After a month of texting and numerous virtual movie dates due to Meghan catching all sorts of Pre-k germs. They were finally able to meet up at New England Tap House. As cliché as it is- it was love at first sight!
After a few more dates, the deal was basically sold after Meghan got food poisoning. Poor Dirk was a trooper and refused to leave Meghan’s side despite his overwhelming fear of vomit and Meghan’s utter embarrassment.
Fast forward to a summer packed with introductions to friends and family, broken toes, bbqs, sunsets and sunrises on the pond and road trips, Meghan made the move to Clough Pond in Loudon.
Dirk and Meghan then bought his parent’s house in November when they knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.
After the holidays, Dirk knew he wanted to pop the question to make it official in the spring. Little did he know that the jeweler would not believe that Meghan had such small fingers. Dirk was told to come back with Meghan cause "that’s impossible". Sure enough size 3.5 was correct so now the secret was out and a little more tricky cause rings are hard to make that small.
Once the ring was obtained Dirk's last task was to figure out how and when to pop the question. Dirk knew Meghan loved the ocean and beach. Not only because she grew up on Long Island, but even more because she believes when she is touching the ocean she is closest to her beloved pup Callie who Meghan believed was playing in the ocean with all her furry friends over the rainbow bridge.
Dirk and Meghan decided they wanted to celebrate their one year anniversary at the beach so Dirk knew this was the perfect opportunity. Meghan didn't think anything of it!
A walk on the beach before dinner turned into Dirk on one knee holding a ring! Once the ring was carefully slipped onto Meghan finger, the rest was history.
