Our Wedding

John and I have very different versions of how we met! As I recall, John and I met for the first time in February 2007; when I was on my softball recruiting visit at LVC as a senior in high school. Prior to going to an 8am class with a future teammate, we stopped at the school's dining hall for breakfast. John joined us that morning, hence our first meeting, however he has no recollection of that!John frequently attended my softball games because he was friends with some of my teammates, but his memories of me start his junior year at a softball party at the infamous "Purple House." It was not until September of my junior year, his senior year, of college that we actually interacted at a party at "38." The next day John messaged me on AIM and the rest is history!We "officially" began dating October 15,2009, although he had met my parents and sisters about a week before at my Fall Ball games. You can ask Nicole or Kailee for their memories of that day. They tell it much better than I do!(the above picture is the first picture we ever took together... I am glad we have become a little more photogenic through the years..)

How We Met

This is another story that many other people can preface much better than I can. To put it simply, I am a very nosy person who needs to know about everything. For example, I figured out the day John took Nicole, Kailee and Tierney to look at engagement rings, and hinted about my knowledge of his original plan to propose during a California sunset while we were on our 5 Year Anniversary trip. As you can only imagine it took a lot of hard work for John to surprise me with his real proposal. Here is a simple description of the special event...On Tuesday, January 20,2015, Tierney and I were leaving the gym around 7 pm. John and I had made plans to meet at a Lebanese Restaurant about 10 minutes from his apartment (in the direction from which I would be driving). As I was driving he had told me he was not too hungry and asked me to pick him up. Being my stubborn typical self, I argued with him explaining the inconvenience it would be for me to pick him up . He insisted I come to get him, which made me suspicious, but with my father being away and Nicole being at school I reasoned that John would wait to propose. John made it a priority to keep this a surprise so no one, not even my family, knew what would unfold that night. As I pulled into his apartment I was on the phone with Nicole, so I texted him to come outside. John insisted I came inside so I quickly hung up with my sister and made my way into the apartment. As I entered, all of the lights were off and I heard music playing from the bedroom; a recording of John singing the song,"Grow Old With You," from The Wedding Singer. In the bedroom, which was beautifully decorated with rose petals, roses, and candles, John was standing, waiting for me. As I entered, he slowly dropped to his knee and proposed! I could not have asked for a more perfect proposal and give him a lot of credit for pulling off a surprise on a random Tuesday night when I was sweaty from the gym!

A block of rooms have been reserved for our guests under "Donoghue-Schoenberger Wedding." Rooms must be reserved by September 16, 2016. After this date, rooms will taken on a space available basis.
