Our Story

In September 2023 we met on an app called Coffee Meets Bagel. Despite living seven minutes down the road from each other, we had never crossed paths. We both had some negative experiences with online dating but were cautiously optimistic our future spouse was waiting to be found. Allen initiated things with a "like" and Meghan followed up by sending the first message - something she rarely did!

We talked almost nonstop through the app and then quickly moved the conversation to text. Soon after, Allen asked Meghan out for a drink at Starbucks, and on September 29th, 2023, we had our first date! We were both nervous and excited, but the night was so relaxed and easy, it almost didn't feel like a first date at all. We spent over two hours sitting and talking. Before the night was over, Allen had asked Meghan to join him, at one of our now favorite places, Longwood Gardens.

Throughout the fall and winter, we spent more and more time together, taking day trips, enjoying time in nature, and attending live sporting events. We especially bonded over our love of baseball and the Philadelphia Phillies. We watched lots of games together during the postseason. After the Phils lost two games in a row, Meg's friends started to believe Allen's house was bad luck for their beloved team, but we didn't care - watching together was too much fun!

By January, we had met each other's families and could tell things were getting serious. We both felt our connection growing and knew we had a future together. As winter thawed into spring it was clear love was in the air!

Meghan traveled to Disney World with her Matron of Honor, Erin Marie, in March. The time apart made one thing clear - Meghan was in love and she was ready to say it! When Meghan returned home Allen beat her to it and said those three little words moments before Meg said them herself. The rest, as they say, was history!

On July 30th, 2024 Allen proposed! We had planned on completed the Pinnacle Trail in Northern Berks County, a hike with truly amazing views, but the weather had other plans. Our special day turned out to be the hottest day of the summer. After two miles of nearly straight incline, we agreed it was time to throw in the towel and head back down. Right before we started the steep decline, Allen asked Meghan to marry him!

We're honored to have you join us on April 5th as we profess out love and officially commit our lives to each other in front of God, our family, and friends! We can't wait to share this milestone with you and see where our adventure goes next!
