On a beautiful weekend in July, 2013 , Mike was invited to join some friends in Maine to relax and celebrate finishing graduate school. As luck would have it, some of those friends were also good friends of Meg's and would play a major role in how Mike and Meg met.

As everyone enjoyed themselves that weekend, Lindsey and Crystal began scheming. Mike was single and now that graduate school was over, he had a bit more time to date (yes...that's why he was single...grad school). The girls thought of someone perfect for Mike, who was interested in more athletic and fun women (as if anyone isn't), which is when Meghan's name came up. "Sully, we have the perfect girl for you. There are a couple of minor problems though. She's currently working in Poland and she's dating someone." Um...awesome." So, Mike appreciated the thought but did not think much of it. Over six months pass and the same group of friends were at Nate's house for New Year's Eve. As Mike walked in, Crystal had a BIG smile on her face and said, "Your girlfriend is coming...with her boyfriend, but who cares, it's not going to last." So the night progressed, Meg came by, Mike said a quick hello and they each went their separate ways. Mike thought that Meg was definitely beautiful, but obviously not available and still in Poland.

Fast forward over a year,  and with Meghan now single,  Mike got word from a LOT of folks that she would be home in June and July for weeks at a time for what else - wedding season. So Mike decided, "why not", and sent a message to Meg via Facebook Messenger (thank goodness for social media!) They chatted and agreed to have dinner on a Thursday night at a place called the Grannary Tavern in downtown Boston. They had dinner, enjoyed their conversation, and continued the evening next door at Central Wharf which turned into a few more hours of conversation and laughter. Finally, realizing the time, Meg and Mike left so Meg could get to the orange line and during the walk, Mike pulled Meg in to kiss her. It was probably the smoothest thing Mike had ever done but was interrupted by a drunk twenty-something year old yelling, "Get a room!" Either way, it was an incredible night.

...Pick up two years later, fifteen months of long distance dating, and four months of living together and Mike was ready to propose. With the help of his Best Person, Julie, he had the ring in hand. On a gorgeous Thursday in June, the night began with a drink at Central Wharf and then dinner at the Granary Tavern at the same table they shared on their first date (Meg might have had to encourage Mike to ask for the same table after the hostess sat them at the wrong table). After covering the places they had been on their first date, Mike suggested that they go for a walk to enjoy the weather. What does Meg reply? "But if we hurry, we can make the 7:30 pm train!" Patiently, Mike suggested a stroll on the Harborwalk and Meghan somewhat reluctantly agreed. While walking along and enjoying the people-watching, Mike got a perfect segue from Meg who was making a joke about nobody wanting her. He said, "I do!", and Meg laughed and said "oh yeah? how much?", and Mike replied, "how about forever?" Mike was so excited, he forgot to remove his backpack as he got down on one knee (which also had a turf burn from soccer) and asked Meghan to marry him. Meg replied, "Really? Are you sure?!?!" Meg then proceeded to say "Seriously?" a few times as well, while Mike was still down on his turf-burned knee. After what seemed like an eternity, Meghan finally nodded her head 'yes" as a random stranger who happened to be walking by captured the moment on her phone.

On May 19th, Lindsey and Crystal, who were at that lake house in Maine and instrumental in introducing Mike and Meg, will officiate the wedding ceremony and will be joined by the rest of the crew from Maine as well as family and friends to celebrate the marriage of Mike and Meg.

Details

Andrew is brother and "Man of Honor" to the bride. It is often joked that Andrew is Meg's "older baby brother" as he is always helping her with car problems or fixing her computer. Although seemingly quiet and reserved, Andrew's giving and kind nature makes him the perfect person to stand by Meg's side on this special occasion. On the wedding day, you'll find him trying to locate the best craft beer the bar is stocking, googling new gear for his mountain bike and trying to avoid Caitlin's attempts to drag him onto the dance floor.

Julie is Mike's cousin and his "Best Person".  Although Julie is Mike's cousin, she's so much more like a sister.  Mike and Julie have been extremely close since they were, well, born as they are just six months apart and grew up together in Foxboro.  Mike and Julie are lucky enough to have had a great friend and family member as they progressed through school, even attending college together (adorable, we know) and now living in the same town where Mike gets to hang with Julie's two boys, Will and Mason (ok, they're the adorable ones).  At the wedding you'll find Julie anxiously awaiting to give her speech so she can relax, enjoy a glass of wine, and mix it up on the dance floor.

 Caitlin is cousin to the bride and bonus bestie. Their early childhood was spent summering in Falmouth with their parents, brothers and matching baby blankets. While they don't wear their blankets as capes anymore, their similarities have kept them close as not only cousins but friends as well. Today, Caitlin works with Meg at Brown Brothers Harriman as a Portfolio Compliance Analyst. On the wedding day, you'll find Caitlin debating when it's the appropriate time to start dancing, and chasing the waiters around for scallops wrapped in bacon.

Chris is the middle brother of the three Sullivan boys. When they were kids, Mike and Chris could be found playing in the front yard, playing baseball, making Sean (the youngest and also a groomsman) stand up there as they threw balls by him. When Sean got a hold of one, they automatically called it a foul ball (sorry Sean). One time Chris and Mike were alone and Chris kept brushing Mike back, which may or may not have led to Mike charging the mound and a fight taking place in the neighbor's yard (sorry to the Grosberg's for that!). Chris didn't let Mike deter him from pursuing a career in baseball since he is now working at RBI Academy as a baseball coach and instructor. During the wedding, Chris can be found taking it all in and trying to avoid being pulled onto the dance floor by any one of a plethora of family members.

Short in stature but not in personality, affectionately nick named "Little One", Elizabeth is cousin to the bride and the unofficial baby sister she always wanted. Their early years were spent in their shared backyard in Watertown, MA, teaching Elizabeth how to walk and talk. Today, Elizabeth continues to save the world as a social worker at Bridge Over Troubled Waters in Boston. On the wedding day, you'll find her smiling from ear to ear and trying not to trip in her heels.

Sean is the youngest of the three Sullivan boys and of all of the cousins on the Mahoney side of the family. While Chris may be the silent, take-it-all-in type, Sean undoubtedly is the life of the party. Sean has a huge smile, loves to tell stories, and lives up to the billing of the youngest child. When Sean isn't the life of the party, he's trying to capture it through his camera having done great work in New England (particularly in Matunuck, RI where he resides) and some shots in the UK for friends and clients. During the wedding you can find Sean in the middle of the dance floor, having as much fun as anyone at the wedding.

For those flying, both Logan Airport in Boston and TF Green in Providence are about an hour and 15 minute drive to Dennis, MA, barring traffic.

There will be a shuttle to the Dennis Inn an hour before the ceremony is set to begin leaving from the Three Seasons Resort. Following the reception, the shuttle will bring guests back to the Three Seasons Resort.

The Corsair & Cross Rip Oceanfront Hotel

Travel

If folks are looking for a fishing trip and don't mind the 15-20 minute drive to Chatham, Captain Darren is the guy you'd want to go to. Mike and Meg have fished with him twice and the last time the boat caught 25+ stripe bass and bluefish, including 5 or 6 over 40 inches. Darren also does whale watching tours (we actually saw a bunch of whales feeding one trip while fishing) and great white shark watching tours.

Dennis Highlands and the Dennis Pines are the two courses in Dennis that offer solid challenges for golfers of all levels. These are closest to the Three Seasons and Corsair, though there are plenty of golf courses within a 15-20 minute drive.

Hog Island offers the best of both worlds: a great restaurant in the front and a brewery with games in the back. The beer is excellent and the atmosphere is fun and loose. The outside has cornhole while the inside has ping pong tables and jenga. It's a great time worth exploring!

The Devil's Purse Brewing Company is another brewery in Dennis that is smaller than Hog Island but the beer is also quite good (now available in stores actually). It's in much closer proximity to the hotels.
