Our Story

How we met…

Josh and Meghan met December 9, 2018.

Josh, who lived in Florida at the time, traveled home to Massachusetts to attend his college friends wedding; the same wedding Meghan was attending as a "plus one".

Meghan's date was a groomsman in the wedding, and a mutual friend of Josh's. Josh was asked to pick up Meghan at Patriots place and bring her to the wedding since her date had to spend most of his time getting ready with the wedding party.

Both Josh and Meghan were hesitant at first. Meghan was nervous to meet with someone she didn't know. While expressing her concerns, Meghan's mother reassured her it would be fine, jokingly saying "watch... you'll come home from the wedding and end up marrying the guy."

Meghan and Josh arrived at Patriots Place around the same time. It was a little awkward at first, but hey both agreed since it was early they would walk to Tavolinos for a drink. Although they just met, Josh and Meghan hit it off right away and felt comfortable joking around. When it was time to leave Josh paid for the drinks. Meghan considers this their first date.

Meghan and Josh were together the rest of the night: sitting with each other during the ceremony and reception, eating tiny clam chowder bowls during cocktail hour, and even dancing together a little bit :)

After the wedding ended Josh and Meghan parted ways. When Meghan got home, she "jokingly" told her mom she was right, she was going marry Josh.

Meghan and Josh stayed in touch for some time after the wedding. They continued to talk via text and even Facetimed for hours every night. Josh was coming home to visit family in the next few weeks for the Holidays and they began making plans to go on an official first date. During his visit they went out on a night in Boston, went to Patriot Place for a Patriots game, and even shot-gunned a beer in her parents driveway.

Although they had a great time together, Josh had to go back to Florida...again. With no plans to return to Massachusetts, Josh and Meghan's communication began dwindling. Months went by and Josh reached out to Meghan a handful of times but she did not respond. Although they enjoyed their time together it didn't make sense to keep talking when they lived across the country.

Now nine months since the wedding Meghan received a text from Josh saying that he was moving back to Massachusetts. He asked if she was interested in going to a concert together. She shrugged off his request. He later asked her to go on a date Labor Day weekend. She was hesitant, but and told him if he wanted to sit in Labor Day traffic to Cape Cod he could drive to her house and they would go to a restaurant on the beach. To Meghan's surprise he replied "It's just a little traffic,! I will see you at 6:30". Three hours later they met at Meghan's house, went to dinner in Falmouth and spent hours on Old Silver Beach after sunset.

One month later, Josh asked Meghan to be his girlfriend, two months after that they moved in together, and nine months later Josh proposed to Meghan on Old Silver beach.
