Nossa História

Where did he get the ring you ask?Erich had the ring for months before proposing. In August, he facetimed his dad and their family jeweler back in Brazil and had the ring hand crafted for her. The natural diamond has a slight yellow hue to it as Meghan wanted something unique but he knew she deserved a real diamond. The ring fit like a glove and Meghan was in awe of the fantastic job Erich did.&nbsp;

Meet our favorite little furballs (pao de quiejinhos), Princess Diana and Jobim. 2022: Erich and Meghan drove to New Hampshire one June morning to adopt Princess (Donna at that time) and she was the most social little angel you could have ever met. Princess has been the most supportive and sassy little baby since. She has 4 children somewhere in the world and is a fantastic big sister because of that. 2024: Jobim was a middle of Montana winter necessity. Meghan convinced Erich princess NEEDED a sibling so they drove to PetCO and adopted Beans (Soybean at the time) at 5 months old solely because of his extra toes. He inherited the name Jobim after a Brazilian pianist due to his extra digits. He has become a constant, very noisy, source of happiness in their home and is the perfect example of a little brother to Princess.

McCarry and Meghan have been best friends since before they were even born. Their first unofficial hangout? Meghan was vibing in a poolside bassinet while McCarry was still in the womb, just two future besties unknowingly kicking off a lifelong friendship at swim lessons Meg's mom was running.

They officially met in kindergarten and have been inseparable ever since. From Jersey Shore trips to graduate school to messy uber rides (RIP Eileen's shirt), their bond only grew stronger. True love is letting it slide and splitting every plate ordered at dinner.

Assigned besties by the universe, they've been riding the chaos wave together ever since and honestly, no one's surprised. Also, they're distant cousins. Truly "a stars are aligned" moment. 

Dr. McCarry LaValle

Charlotte and Meghan’s friendship started at Assumption College when they ran their first 4x800 together and they’ve been inseparable (and a little unhinged) ever since. They’ve been roommates, travel buddies, and globe-trotting besties, surviving everything from long-haul flights  (boat rides, bus rides, ubers) to explosive hostel mornings.

At one point, they were even simultaneously vegan in college. Briefly. Delusional? Maybe. Adorable? Also yes.

Most impressively, Charlotte has the rare and saintly ability to balance the combined chaos of both Meghan and Jules, no small feat. She's the calm in the storm, the voice of reason, and the one most likely to carry water, snacks, and a well-thought-out (early) exit strategy. Will most definitely put cake or pao in her purse for later. 



Dr. Charlotte Allen

Julia (aka Jules, aka J$) has been in Meghan’s life since freshman year and things got chaotic fast. From dorm room bonding (formal apology to every bush on Assumption College property) to roommate chaos to hopping across the pond for a semester of “great craic” (read: questionable decisions and legendary nights), these two have been through it all.

Jules is the kind of friend who surprises you, inspires you, and occasionally makes you question your life choices—in the best possible way. Partially because she's a psychologist, mostly because she's brutally honest. Catch her rapping every Lil Wayne song probably in a booth in the back.

Dr. Julia Merchant

Somehow, Sally’s been in Meghan’s life longer than McCarry. Shocking, we know. These two bonded young over shared DNA and questionable choices; like Sally putting soap on Meghan’s toothbrush and joyfully peeling her sunburns like it was her job. Cousin? Sure. Menace? Absolutely.

They’ve never lived in the same time zone and barely manage to exist on the same sleep schedule, but that hasn’t stopped them from keeping the chaos alive. Time, distance, and common sense have never stood a chance.

A local favorite for hikes! Could be super crowded with city folks, so plan an earlier excursion. If you go early enough you may encounter Meghan's dad running repeats up and down the mountain (trust us though, no one could get up this early). - Disclaimer: I wrote this before he passed... I was going to change it but it's sort of funny now - you could definitely encounter his ghost. Who's cutting onions?

Mount Beacon Fire Tower

The spot for a good NY beer. You'll probably catch Uncle Charles with his buddies any day of the week.

Obercreek Brewing Company

Meghan's entire heart is in this bagel shop. There are two locations now but the one in Fishkill is the original and where Meghan, Linda (mother), and Magic (Meghan's childhood dog and Linda's favorite pet) walk to to enjoy a classic BEC. Don't know what to order? Meghan's staple is a bacon, egg, and cream cheese on a toasted Asiago. SPK? Yes, please!

The Bagel Shoppe

This place is a top pick for the young Ropes crew. You’ll often find Charlie and Zachary—the cousins Meg basically grew up with like brothers—hanging out here with their high school friends, swapping stories over local brews and killer cocktails.Pro tip: Don’t forget your quarters! This bar’s packed with vintage coin-op arcade games that bring all the old-school fun.

Happy Valley Arcade Bar

This is slowly becoming the place McCarry and Meghan head to when they're both in town. Super yummy cocktails, brunch, and in the best town on earth! "No Doctor" is Meghan's favorite cocktail!

Melzingah Tap House

This a great place for some dancing and having a good old college time. A good spot for Meg's Montana family. Meghan and her high school friends have been here one time, and it was a time they'll never forget!

Billy Joe's Ribworks

The title speaks for itself. No notes. 10/10.

If you are from the area, Magnanini Winery is about 15 minutes from Alexis Diner in Newburgh.&nbsp;&nbsp; Starting on I-84, heading west, take exit 39A for NY-32 N.&nbsp; Take 9W to rt 32 heading north. You'll merge onto route 300 heading west for 10 minutes. There's a little, back country, dirt road about 6 miles down rt 300. This is where you turn onto the vineyard property. Follow the same dirt road until you see balloons.&nbsp;

Magnanini Winery, Restaurant, Distillery & Wedding Venue

We have blocked off 40 rooms (20 suites, 20 standard) at the Express Inn and Suites in Montgomery, NY. This is discounted for you all to stay (from 5/14-5/16) and will be available at this discounted rate until 30 days before the check in date (4/14/2026). At that point the rooms will be released to the public and the discount will no longer apply. Please plan and reserve accordingly. We will be shuttling from the winery to this hotel at the end of the evening so you can leave your cars here and uber/rideshare to the winery. There are other hotels within walking distance if you prefer to book elsewhere. To reserve: Call 845-457-7373 and tell them you are "Booking a room for Erich and Meghan's wedding and have a discount code: SAW".If the discounted rate does not apply ask to speak to Cody Warchol, the manager.

If you are from the Hudson Valley...

The closest MTA station is in Beacon located at: 8 Long Dock Rd, Beacon, NY 12508We recommend parking here and taking this to Grand Central if you are heading to NYC for a day! You can also take the Amtrak into Poughkeepsie and then head into Beacon via rail or drive to Fishkill via Rte. 9. From here you'll have to uber/ rent a car to get to the vineyard. If you are driving all the way, take 1-84 towards Danbury, CT/Newburgh then follow the instructions for the locals.

If you are from the north east...

If you are from far, far away...

The closest airports are Stewart International Airport (SWF) or Westchester County Airport (HPN) which are both small, efficient airports less than an hour from Fishkill. Larger airports like Newark Liberty in Newark, NJ (EWR) or JFK in Queens (JFK) are recommended if you are looking for more affordable flights or need more options. LaGuardia in Queens (LGA) is a last resort when Erich and Meghan fly home, but is still an option if you are looking for more flight choices. Taking the commuter rail to Beacon from EWR, JFK, or LGA IS POSSIBLE, but a big pain in the tuchus. We recommend ridesharing/renting a vehicle from any of the airports listed as it is the easiest way to reach the Hudson Valley.
