Megna's Vows:Logan Philip Crowe, you came into my life when I was literally not expecting it but looking back 3 years ago it was the perfect time. I would have never thought that I would be standing here today on a mountain marrying the cute post doc I met across the hall on a Friday night....over a purification column, but here we are!&nbsp;Can I just ask, why were we working late hours on a Friday night? Some might say it was fate and I could not agree more as the life we have built together is a clear representation of how one chance event can change the rest of your life “for the best.”&nbsp;-at least in my experience and I HOPE as well as in yours. Now even though you literally shitted on my home and haven (*cough* California) during one of our initial conversations, I still managed to fall in love with you and I guess my point with this story is that you became my home and my haven. I know we have an inside joke among the two of us, that the reason I finally agreed to date you was because of the replacement windshield wipers you bought and installed for me on our third week of dating because mine were so terribly past expiration. However, I want to tell you today, that one action highlighted a glimpse of the selfless, considerate, dutiful, and loving man you are to me and continue to be. People make the vows to be there “for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health” But Logan you don’t have to make those vows to me. Your actions have continuously shown that you have been there for me-I mean I am a PhD student so there’s for rich and for poorer. I have literally had a BOGO deal where my appendix and gal bladder were removed and as I was in pain AND shitting myself post-recovery, and YOU took care of me so there’s in sickness and health. And you and I both know the list of examples continue. But it is not just those standard vows that you continuously fulfill that make me love and cherish you-it’s the little things you do for me, the little details that make all the big differences. You take our three pups out every morning and make me a fresh cup of coffee because you know I am not a morning person. You fill up my gas tank without telling me because I hate and I mean hate getting gas. You’ve even upped your spice game from Mrs. Dash All-Purpose seasoning to garam masala! And my favorite, you kiss me on the forehead before you start your day as well as after you end your day. Logan, these subtle acts of love are the reason I knew that you were the man I wanted to build my life with and grow old with. Now I could keep going, but to wrap all of this up today in the most traditional form: I vow to continue to respect you in your successes and in your failures, to care for you in sickness and in health, to nurture you, and to grow with you throughout the seasons of life. In a non-traditional form: I am excited to share my future with you – my triumphs and my challenges, my joys, and my sorrows. Together, we will accomplish the life we both dream of living. I love you and I am so fucking excited to do life with you!Logan's Vows:Megna Kumari Tiwari… I remember the first time I saw you, that red headed girl walking into RIP… late.&nbsp;I didn’t know who you were yet, but soon enough you were walking into my lab late on a Friday night wanting to steal some protein purification columns.&nbsp;You got a bit more than you wanted when I dropped off a sticky note with my number.&nbsp;One thing lead to another and I find myself at Akademia with you trying to buy you some beer but you wouldn’t just accept that so you were buying me beers in return… I’m pretty sure that bartender thought we were fucking idiots.&nbsp;Good thing we could sober up watching the Babadook. Since that night, I’ve been so incredibly lucky to be able to experience life with you.&nbsp;We experienced a pandemic together that kept us locked inside together for months and came out the other side closer than ever.&nbsp;Even back then, I knew one day I’d be standing here with you. We’ve come so far together since being stuck in our social distancing bubble.&nbsp;We’ve hiked all over the South.&nbsp;We’ve traveled across the country by car without stopping or killing each other.&nbsp;You’ve shown me all over California and I got to show you New York and New Jersey.&nbsp;You’ve taken me to my first music festival and I found some BBQ you actually like… even if it is in South Carolina.&nbsp;We’ve celebrated Christmas and Diwali, Easter and Karva Chauth… even though I’ve fasted for you before, I think this next one will be even more special. We’ve been through so much together.&nbsp;You’ve bared with my shit while looking for jobs twice now and trusted me to be there with you while you got bogo organ removal.&nbsp;And now, we’re going through it again.&nbsp;We’ve been getting pushed to our limits again planning a wedding across the country and finding out Burfee has cancer, but between the two of us, there’s nothing we can’t handle.&nbsp;Every single day, I get to wake up and see your face - my daily reminder of how lucky I am.&nbsp;I’ve been told that we belong together from so many people, who have no idea how true that statement is.&nbsp;I promise to always be there to kill the bugs that terrify you, to always text you good morning even if I’ve already said it in person, to take the dogs out so you don’t have to, and to tell all the dad jokes that make you visibly cringe.&nbsp;I know we never imagined getting married like this, and although I wish the reason for the rush never happened, I have no regrets.&nbsp;I know for sure that we’re meant to be together and no matter when or where we get married, it’s perfect because I’m with you and our dogs making our family official.&nbsp;The last few years have been some of the best of my life, but they were just the teaser for what’s to come.&nbsp;I can’t wait to continue exploring the world and building our life together as your husband.&nbsp;

Mehndi 

The main focus of the event is the application of bridal Mehndi (henna) to bride’s hands and feet. Traditionally this event includes the bride, both moms, and all females in the wedding party. Since these are more modern times-we will be including our entire wedding party! *Invitation extended to wedding party*

Jaagran 

North Indian Hindu ritual consisting of night vigils, songs and dance in honor of the goddess Durga Mata. It is a very common prayer/event to occur before a Punjabi wedding for the receival of blessings from Mata. *Invitation extended to wedding party, close family, &amp; friends*

Haldi

Pre-wedding ceremony endearingly referred to the "holy bath." A paste consisting of turmeric (haldi), oil and water are applied to both the bride and groom by family and wedding party before the wedding. The mixture is believed to bless the couple before the wedding.&nbsp;Super fun event-make sure you get Logan well drenched in turmeric! *Invitation extended to wedding party &amp; close extended family*

Chooda and Sant

In this ceremony the bride’s chooda (wedding bangles)&nbsp;is said to bring good luck to the newlyweds. It is a symbol of fertility, fortune and prosperity. The significance of the rituals are to strengthen the bond between the newly-wed couple! *Invitation extended to wedding party &amp; close extended family*

Sangeet and Jaago 

In Punjabi, Sangeet means music and Jaago means WAKE UP. This musical night is a celebration of the union of not only the couple but the bonding of both families. This event will double as a welcome party for all our wonderful family and friends making the trip to Southern California for the wedding. *Invitation extended to ALL who can make it*
