In their first documented photograph together, it may look like Brennan and Meili were already close but they, in fact, were not- only knowing each other through their mutual friend Hannah Reece (now the maid of honor!)

During a school trip, Brennan and Meili rode next to each other the 9-hour drive from Wisconsin to Missouri. While one might think this would be where they began to get close- it was not, the boy Meili liked rode front seat! (Also, the two were so mad at each other at the end of the trip that they did not talk for three days.)

Brought back together by Hannah, the two of them worked out (some) of their differences

During another school event, Brennan and Meili worked with a randomly assigned team in a game of Clue- it was here that friends began asking Meili "are you interested in Brennan?" (She was not.)

One winter break later an interesting turn of events arrived, Brennan began teaching Meili how to drive! It was in these action-packed, high stakes drives that Brennan's feelings for Meili were confirmed. And finally, Meili began to feel something as well...

Fast-forward two months to Spring Break at Hannah's house in PA, Brennan and Meili made their friends increasingly uncomfortable with their unspoken, however obvious, feelings for each other (They both denied it.)

Eventually, after wayyy too long, Brennan actually told Meili he liked her, and Meili accepted. Photo credit to their friend who unwittingly took a selfie as he kicked them out of the classroom to lock it up!

A few days later, the two of them took to the zoo for their first date!

While there's plenty of good things in-between, this is already way too long so here's the point- Brennan got down on one knee, Meili said yes, and they both can't wait to see you this January!
