Steven and Melanie first met in January, 2023 in Richmond, Virginia. Melanie had recently moved to Richmond from Austin, Texas and reluctantly turned to online dating to find "Mr. Right." Lucky for her, Steven was a pro at online dating and everything-Richmond! Their first date was at East Coast Provisions in Carytown and the rest is history...

It didn't take long for Steven's sense of humor, laid-back personality and exceptional good looks to win Melanie's heart. He even did the impossible and won Josie's (Melanie's dog) as well. In August, they bought a house in Malvern Gardens, giving Josie her very own backyard and place for the three to call home. Soon after moving in together it became obvious that they never wanted to live apart. Months later, Steven proposed under the Christmas lights at the James Center in downtown Richmond and Melanie happily said yes.
