Melanie met Abbie during OT school at Creighton University. Melanie was her “little”as Abbie was a year a head of Melanie OT program. However, in life Melanie is the older one. Abbie has travelled to Europe , Canada and across the US with Melanie. For the last 10 years of their friendship Abbie and Melanie try to see each other each year since Abbie is in Nebraska and Melanie is in Washington. Their friendship knows no limits! Melanie would not let her “Big” miss out on being her Maid of Honor.

Derek has known Daniel since 2nd grade where their first interaction was when Derek was coming out of his dad’s red Chevy blazer for soccer practice. It was friendship at first site. After this moment, they were inseparable until college. Daniel is a friend that is loyal, trustworthy and reliable. Derek would not have anyone but Daniel standing next to him on his wedding day.

Stacey is essentially the matchmaker for Derek and Melanie. It was at her belated birthday gathering back in 2021 that Derek and Melanie met. Derek has known Stacey since middle school times and Melanie met Stacey at St. Luke's Rehab Center where they work. It only makes sense that she be the one to marry Melanie and Derek.
