Our Wedding

Melanie and Jake's Story began at The Ohio State University. They met at a frat party their sophomore year, and the rest was history. After countless date parties, blocks, and trips to Sicilia's and Joy's, their bond grew stronger. After graduating college, they spent time together in their favorite place; Sun Valley, Idaho where they fell in love with skiing. Then Jake was off to PA school and Mel was off to the Big Apple spending 2 years long distance. In 2023, they decided to make the big move to Colorado to pursue new jobs and be close to the ski mountains. We cannot wait to celebrate our special day with all of our favorite people in Estes Park, Colorado!

Our Story 

Shuttles to the Welcome Party

There will be shuttle service available for the welcome party for guests staying at the Black Canyon Inn. The shuttle will start service at 5:25pm from the lodging office (J). Please refer to grounds map for location. The shuttle will make rounds to The Barrel until all guests are picked up. Please be at the pickup location no later than 6pm. Shuttle pick up times: 1. 5:25pm 2. 5:45pm 3. 6:05pm

SHUTTLES BACK FROM THE WELCOME PARTY

There will be shuttle service available back from the welcome party to both the Black Canyon Inn and The Holiday Inn Hotel. Shuttle Service back will begin at 8:40pm. The event will be until 10pm.

Additional Information: There will be available parking for guests who would like to drive to the welcome party. There are also ubers and taxi services available if you do not wish to drive from The Holiday Inn.

SHUTTLES TO THE WEDDING 

There will be shuttle service available for the wedding from the Holiday Inn to the Venue. Shuttle Service will begin at 3:40pm. Additional Information: There will be some parking available at the venue if you wish to drive.

SHUTTLES FROM THE WEDDING 

Shuttle service will begin at 11pm from the venue to the Holiday Inn and the After party location. These will run until Midnight. Shuttles will also take guests back to the Black Canyon inn and the Holiday Inn starting at 1:00am from the after party.

They offer door to door shuttle service to / from Denver International Airport (DIA) and Estes Park. The shuttle runs multiple times per day. If you are looking for transportation around Estes Park or even to trails within Rocky Mountain National Park, we recommend scheduling a ride with Explore Estes Park Private Ride Services. This would be a great option for planning rides to and from our welcome event! There are limited Ubers in the town of Estes.

Dress Code

We could not be more excited to welcome you to one of our favorite places to celebrate our special weekend. We know that some of you have traveled from far away and we want to ensure that you get the most out of your vacation as this little mountain town has so much to offer! Here are some of our favorite hikes, things to do, and places to eat!

Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) is truly one of the wonders of Colorado. It is around a 10 minute drive from our wedding venue. Please note that RMNP is at a much higher elevation than Estes Park, make sure to stay hydrated! To enter Rocky Mountain National Park you will need a timed entry permit. You can purchase at recreation.gov. Please note, RMNP will still be snowy and Icy in late May. If you want to go into the park we recommend booking a guide and getting the correct equipment for your safety!

If you are looking for some activities around the town, Lake Estes is a great choice! You can walk around the lake, rent paddle boards, Kayaks, Canoes, bicycles, and more. Estes Park Mountain Shop is our favorite local shop with rentals of all of the above. For some shopping, make sure to go down the stairs in the mountain shop to find excellent deals on popular outdoor brands.

Take a tram to the top of Estes for amazing views of the mountains and town. We suggest booking tickets in advance to ensure a spot.

The Stanley Hotel is another cool attraction in the town. Stephen King stayed at this hotel while he wrote his masterpiece, ‘The Shining.’ He claims that the eerie vibe of the hotel inspired him for his novel, turned movie. The hotel offers tours to learn about its history.
