Marcus and I met in 2023 after a long awaited time of hearing about each other through the grapevine. Leah (Marcus' sister, my best friend and the MOH) had caught me at the perfect time to tell me “Melanie I have three single brothers and lots of cousins that are single”. Lots was not an understatement and I found that out very quickly. From the start Leah said I think Marcus is the most fitting and the one for you. So very quickly she began planning how and when we were going to meet each other. A couple months went by with nonchalant plans to meet but plans kept falling through. In the meantime, I was getting friend requests on social media from Marcus. At that point I had known we were clearly both trying to be set up but neither of us took that much initiative. Finally Leah had enough and said be my plus one to my cousins wedding that will be the perfect time. Sure enough, I was Leah's plus one and there I saw a cute, tall, stubborn boy in a cowboy hat and immediately knew he was going to be the one. As typical Melanie would do instead of approaching the cute cowboy I waited until I was forced to go up to him so it would be nice and awkward. From that introduction forward Marcus and I didn't skip a beat. A Lot of our time in the beginning of our relationship was spent over the phone with lots of traveling back and forth happening as I was living in Boise and he was in Cottonwood. It didn't take long after driving to Cottonwood every weekend for me to realize I wanted to be in Cottonwood to live near Marcus. As our relationship became more serious by the day I knew living close would be the way to see if this is something we both wanted forever. I moved to Cottonwood in November of 2023 and since living in Cottonwood Marcus and I have spent a lot of time working cattle, working some more cattle and lastly working cattle. All jokes aside Marcus and I have enjoyed every second together making endless amounts of memories. Marcus popped the question December 23,2024 and it was the easiest yes of my life. We cannot wait to enter this next chapter of our life together and we look forward to celebrating our special day with all of our closest family and friends.
