coffee met bagel. they fell in love.

Both Ted and Melanie got started on Coffee Meets Bagel by friends- Pat introduced Ted, and Marissa introduced Melanie. (Thanks guys!) On the first date they ate pho and followed it up with margaritas. On the second date, they celebrated Chinese New Year then Ted surprised Melanie with tickets to a cat circus. It's been a party ever since.

The Proposal

Ted knew Melanie wanted him to ask her dad's permission before proposing, and after an in-person visit and (several) emails, he got the okay! Then he went back home to LA get his family's permission, and finally, everyone agreed this would be a great idea! He knows Melanie loves stargazing, so he planned a night out under the full moon. It just so happened to be the Supermoon, and it lit up all of Pensacola Beach for just the two of them. They laid out on the beach, looked up at the stars, listened to music, and watched the waves crash in front of them. Ted quizzed Melanie on the first place they kissed (she forgot!! it was on a similar night at Ocean Beach in San Diego). As they were preparing to leave they saw a shooting star... Melanie made a wish, and the next thing she knew, Ted was down on one knee, holding up something that sparkled in the moonlight. Her wish came true!

Loving Day

The wedding day has special significance for Melanie and Ted. On June 12th 1967 the Supreme Court decided the case of Loving v. Virginia, which struck down anti-miscegenation laws in 16 states, including the Commonwealth of Virginia. This year will mark 50 years of legalized interracial marriage throughout the US! Come join us in our celebration of love!
