Anthony's version:
Have you seen how fine this woman is? We met on bumble, and I thought she was a catfish. Turns out I was delightfully wrong...
We had 4 dates the first night we met. We grabbed coffee, went to the bar for drinks, met my crazy friends for bowling, and sang karaoke to close the night out. We've been inseparable since.
I love us because we both act like 9 year-olds when the door shuts and the world has been conquered for the day. We have so many inside jokes that we can't keep track and I'm constantly in a state of face-palming her comedic antics. I wouldn't have it any other way. That's my rib.
Mel's version:
If someone were to tell me 6 years ago that I was going to find the love of my life on a dating app, in the middle of a Podunk town in Texas, and he was a fine black man in the military... I would've said no way Jose.
Yet, here we happily are, closer than ever after many adventures, career changes, cross-country moves, heartache, a pandemic, and our first home.
For someone whose job it is to create stories using intricate words and details to paint a picture for people, it's hard for me to properly describe the amount of love I feel for Anthony (so I'll have to do my best during our vows).
What I can tell you is that Ant is truly the first man to love me the way I've always wanted to be loved. He accepts me for me, quirks and all, and I him. Sure he leaves crumbs everywhere, forgets to put the toilet seat down and always cooks something stinky in the kitchen... but I wouldn't have it any other way, because that's ma baby.
