Their love story began in Hampton, Va in 2012. They were both ministering at a young adult gospel music showcase. As Melanie and her group mates took to the stage, she immediately caught the eye of Aj who was playing for his cousin that night. He then turned to his friends and said "I'm going to get her" and with that, he introduced himself at the end of the night. After the introduction, it took the two a few months to connect on Facebook and exchange numbers. Unfortunately, however, Melanie was preparing to move back to her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio at that time. Once she moved, communication between them soon stopped. But, when people are meant to be together, time and even distance won't hold them back. So, after about 6 months, in May 2013, they reconnected and sparks flew. It only took a few weeks for the couple to realize that their connection was a special one. Now, after 3 years of falling in love in a long distance relationship, the time has finally come for the two to become one.
