David and Melanie met at Napa High in 2010, when Melanie moved from Florida to California. However, it wasn't until after the Forth of July fireworks in 2011 that sparks started to fly between them. The two spend the summer going on adventures, hikes, ice cream and star gazing dates, long drives, and as cheesy as it sounds- falling in love. Little did they know, the summer of 2011 was the start of their forever.

As you all may know, (mainly because David never lets anyone forget) he was a high school football star and Mel was a Spiritlearder, but that year, the Napa High "Big Game" on November 4th, 2011, was extremely special because that was when David officially asked Melanie to be his girlfriend. It was surprising that David didn't get on one knee and propose right then, considering when he first met Alana, Melanie's sister, he had saved her number in his phone as "Sister-in-law"

But every fairytale has its tragedy.. and unfortunately, after a year of long distance, the two broke up giving one another time to explore life. Although broken up, they still couldn’t stay away from each other. Despite their many moves, they continued to stay in touch and visit each other as much as possible. David took quite a few notes from Romeo, but Melanie's favorite was the one night he ended up at her house in the middle of the night and woke her up by throwing rocks at her window.. how charming.

Fast forward to 2018, David and Melanie decided to give their love another shot. This time, Melanie moved back to Napa to be with David. The stars aligned, and it wasn't long until the two began living together.

On June 6, 2021, David surprised Melanie in her hometown, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL where he got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him. The rest is history!
