I’m so excited to share our story—Andrew’s and mine—and how we’ve come to this amazing point in our lives. It all started back in high school, during our freshman year at New Utrecht. Picture this: I was just trying to figure out the cafeteria chaos when I stumbled upon a scene that would change everything. My friend was trying to sell brownies. And there was Andrew, a very outgoing freshman who was willing to buy the brownies if I was included in the sale.
Then we ended up in the same English class. We were just acquaintances, exchanging a few smiles and “Hi’s” but nothing that felt particularly significant. As high school rolled on, Andrew and I stayed in touch, but it wasn’t until junior and senior year that our friendship really started to blossom. By senior year, we were pretty close, sharing laughs, and endless memories.
Prom was an interesting night for both of us. We each had our own dates, but there was this one moment—when "All of Me-John Legend" came on—we found ourselves slow dancing together. It was a sweet and intimate moment, but at the time, we both just thought of it as a friendly dance. Little did we know that this was just the beginning.
The real plot twist came at a bonfire we had for one of our friends. Andrew, perhaps fueled by a little too much liquid courage, decided it was the perfect time to confess his feelings. Let me tell you, it was unexpected and, frankly, pretty hilarious. His drunken confession left me both surprised and curious, and navigating this new revelation was anything but straightforward.
We had a lot of heart-to-hearts, some awkward conversations, and a fair share of figuring things out. But as we worked through it, I realized that what started as a close friendship had the potential to become something much deeper and more meaningful. And while the journey wasn’t always smooth—there were bumps and challenges along the way—it was worth every moment.
One of the things we’ve always shared is our love for adventure. Whether it’s a road trip to Vermont or a flight to the Dominican Republic, our travels together have only strengthened our bond. Every trip, every adventure has brought us closer and made our relationship even more special.
And now, here we are, about to tie the knot! Who would have thought that the boy who once bought a brownie would become the love of my life? It’s been an incredible journey from those early days in the cafeteria to this moment of celebrating our love and commitment.
Thank you all for being part of our story. Here’s to a lifetime of laughter, love, and countless adventures ahead. We couldn’t be more excited for the future!
