Wedding venue: Radisson Cartagena Ocean Pavillion Hotel
Hotel is a short ride from the airport. Outside of airport you will be met by people trying to stuff you into the taxi. You are welcome to do it but remember the cost might be higher than UBER ride. Uber pick up location is just a short walk to the left when you leave the airport door.
Remember that UBER is not legal in Colombia, so someone has to be sitting in the front seat as a passenger. App works well and this would be my recommended transportation choice.
FLIGHTS AND TRIP TO COLOMBIA
Guests leaving from Iowa will find some flight options with Delta one layover in Atlanta or Miami. Some flights get sold out fast and the other options turn into a longer trip overall. Guests leaving from other states may have to research their options.
Cartagena has a fairly small airport, but it is a growing touristic destination. Lately the wait at passport control increased so be prepared for that.
February 14th there is a large carnival starting in a nearby city (Barranquilla) that will drive the demand up for the tickets as well as potential pricing. Please secure the tickets ahead of time to be on the safe side. Census showed over 5 million people attended Barranquilla carnival in 2023 (second largest after Rio De Janeiro).
Radisson Hotel will also be the location of cocktail hour post ceremony and reception place,
Buffet breakfast at Palenques Restaurant from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Please, e-mail your planned travel dates and names of the guests to all 4 provided hotel personnel e-mails at once to make sure we get faster response. Mention our names and the wedding date in the e-mail to get the guest rates.
If you do not hear back from one of the representatives within a week, please reach out to Melissa to check into it. Her e-mail is melissaanibal@hotmail.com or call/text Antanas (515)890-0029.
Once they confirm your hotel reservation, they will e-mail you a link to process one night payment at that time. Rest of the money can be collected at check in. Keep in mind that non-Colombian residents will not be charged the 19% tax that local people do. In order to avoid the charge, you will have to show your passport at the check in that reflects the stamp of entry.
We apologize for making this more complicated than needed to be.
