August 13, 2018-- I had moved to Bluffton, South Carolina from Columbus, Ohio to begin a new teaching job. I walked into my new school on the first day and laid eyes on the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. I immediately went on my phone and opened Bumble (a dating app) to find her, without even knowing her name. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful (only later to find out that she swiped left on me). Although I was unsuccessful at first, I was persistent and visited her office at the end of each day to talk to her. Finally, in October of that year, she gave me a chance and the rest is history.

I had moved to Bluffton, South Carolina from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in August of 2017 to pursue my career as a Speech/Language Pathologist in an elementary school. August 13, 2018 was the first day of my second year as an SLP. It was a typical first day of school full of meetings and setting up our classrooms. Chris was setting up his classroom just a few doors down; I walked into his room to introduce myself and asked him to sign off on one of my student's papers. Following this, he proceeded to visit my classroom every day to talk to me...and every weekend, he would ask me to hang out. I said "no" many times, until October of that year when I decided to give him a chance. We remained friends for a few months before I knew that he was more than just a friend. And the rest is history!
