When Melissa and Erik met over sushi and wine in Quincy it was like they’d known each other for years - conversation was easy, lots of laughs, and closed down the restaurant.


With Erik living on the south shore and Melissa on the north shore, they thought they would take things slow. Boy were they wrong! They have talked, FaceTimed, or seen each other every day since their first date.


Melissa was welcomed by the Burns’ with open arms. First by Hattie and Bernie asking for piggy back rides at Dave & Busters and then the rest of the family in Jersey for Tom and Jackie’s 50th anniversary.


When Erik met the Harts and the Mangolds he fit in right away. From betting on the horses and a night at the casino to wild wedding dances, it was clear that he was already like one of the family. Definitely not crop-able from photos.


Erik proposed at Christmas dinner with Melissa’s family and, of course, she said yes. His proposal brought tears to even Grandpa’s eyes.


Melissa and Erik moved into their new home in February and couldn’t be more excited for what 2022 has in store for them.
