Michael found Melissa on a dating app where he initiated a conversation and started to get acquainted. On February 9th, 2020, they finally met at the Coffee Exchange in Downtown Providence, RI. The date was going exceptional well and they both then decide to continue the date over dinner and drinks at The Dublin Rose in Seekonk, MA. The restaurant was busy so they sat at the bar where Michael order a whiskey neat, while Melissa ask for a nice glass of white wine. The conversation continued discussing their children, and other family topics. They continued to get to know each with long conversations on the phone and dinner dates. At this time Covid epidemic was just started which made public dates more difficult. So they transitioned dinners to Melissa's house in Cranston, RI. As the months went on, they became closer and closer and decide to embark on their first getaway together. They ventured on a three weekend to Grand Mountain View in Whitefield, NH and found the stay to be exceptional pleasing. New Hampshire has come to be their regular visit yearly. They have since gone to Cancun Mexico, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and other weekend getaways.

On August 4th, 2021, they decide to further commit to their relationship by moving in together at a quiet neighborhood in Warwick, RI. This also was extended to their respective children - Joe, Delaney, Cassie and Bella.
